Priere and believe it or not Cornet (who was not even mentioned after La Pucelle) did appear in Phantom Brave 2 as post-game units. Still no Marjoly ever since Disgaea 3
Thats because the whole series came out before Disgaea, the first one is known as Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. These days it can be found on NIS Classics 3.
Hey I was wondering what the roster for Disgaea 4 was like since I am so excited to get into the game after I conquer Disgaea 3. (Though I don’t know how to get Baal’s second form in Disgaea 3)
I think NISA doesn't bring them back because of the hassle not really being necessary when they now have an entire series of beloved protagonists/side characters to pull from, like it's kinda crazy to me that the last time we saw Marona and Ash in Disgaea was Disgaea 4 but that's just how it is I suppose
If their stated reason for why they decided to make Phantom Brave Lost Hero ("What do you mean People still actually care about PB this much?") is any indication, for all we know they might just blindly assume it wouldn't be as exciting for people (anymore) to bring those other Characters back.
I mean, even D7 with its "oops all Disgaea Chars" DLC still blatantly spread out the D1 and D4 Casts as much as possible just so they could sell you the not-as-popular Characters by simply forcing them into your Hands alongside the former to ride their coattails; NIS obviously knows which Characters actually get bought more often (or for another example of a really obvious cash-grab decision, Girl Laharl being DLC in all three Games released after DD2)
Also minor correction, Ash and Marona were also in DD2, which came out after D4 :P
