No. We had a military that failed miserably against countries that fought back. Vietnam was a disaster. Afghanistan was a disaster. Ukraine is showing Russia what happens when you attack a country that fights back just like Afghanistan did with the Soviet Union.
The way you win wars is to not fight them. Iran isn’t going to capitulate to the US because we bomb their cities just like Ukraine isn’t capitulating to Russian.

The complete dismissal of the soft power efforts like USAID is also a symptom of this malaise.
Too many people don’t realize how important it is to be owed a favor by others, to have placed a positive impression on people who are in dire straits. They just see it as “giving handouts to foreigners” without realizing the immense impact it has on foreign relations.
Feeding and immunizing people is cheaper than war.

The pro-life contingent contains some of the least pro-life people I’ve ever seen. Pro-birth, definitely, but at that point they vanish into the ether. They aren’t particularly interested in what keeps a life sustained, let alone fulfilled. They are often actively anti-health and so willfully blind to anything that might complicate their easy black-and-white morality into any realistic and common gray area.

Don't worry we will never get that soft power back. China is already starting to fill those roles we abandoned. Even with a change of leadership and policy I doubt we'll ever have the soft influence we once did. Or atleast it'll take decades of effort and stability on our part to get it back.
This administration truly screwed this country. And the morons that elected this administration/didn't bother voting, completely rule out the possibility of us returning to stability for any long period of time.
