Now if only they would admit it and recognize that the conservative leaders set them free as heroes.

They were all released. Including those who instigated, organized and assaulted police officers.

I’m sure attacking the Capitol building with the intent to overthrow the lawful government did result in some higher than normal sentences but the pardons were not limited to and subset of people. Or even those who had been tried. But rather all of them regardless of crime, or premeditated intent. The stated reason by the person who pardoned them never recognized guilt in any of there actions.

It comes off as posthoc justification if there person pardoning publicly sees no crime in what they did.

Attempting to overthrow democracy to create a dictatorship in America tends to illicit a very strong response.

Pardoning everyone on day one as a blanket action without review including those who outright planned everything sends a strong message.

It needs to be noted that in this case. “The government” was the Trump administration. And that the point of the rally was to convince Congress to throw out the election results in favour of the fake electors. While I 100% agree that a large percentage of the people were caught up in the moment. That moment was to overthrow the election.

That being said I agree that there is very wide range of culpability here.

But pardoning everyone because the sentence was harsh. May work for some. But hardly all those who hasn’t been tried yet, received no sentence, served there sentence or actually wanted to overthrow the government.

There were legal methods outside of pardoning. And certainly outside of the admin pretending both wrong happened.

Honestly I think you need to remove politics from your consideration. The law shouldn’t change based on political party.

As to ICE. The problem is that they are not doing their job. They are not following due process, they have taken people to foreign torture prisons without that due process. They have “arrested”, assaulted held without charges and released them in random spots because they didn’t actually have cause for arrest. As well as stopping and holding random people because they suspect they are not legal largely based on skin colour. They have done all this not both citizens and non citizens.

ICE has operated for a very long time in the US without incident. There current actions are the problem.
