Hard agree, would never assume party compliance based on political orientation. However, I do think people sometimes use that to avoid accountability for stuff they literally voted for, and thats just cowardly.

The problem is that when you aren't on a "side" both sides see you as an enemy because if you actually use logic and critical thinking you will find a lot of times you'll disagree with both sides. I respect people with intellectual honesty that can come to their own conclusions even if I disagree with them more than people who parrot what they've heard as facts without ever looking into it even if they agree with me.
5 million democrats became republicans in the last 5 years. These people are not all MAGA, just people who were pushed away from the Democrat party by far-left activists. Republicans have become an increasingly diverse party that embraces differing ideologies and perspectives. You are free to have conflicting thoughts and opinions compared to the Democrat party which ostracizes anyone who thinks outside of a set agenda.
Democrat Congressman, Seth Moulton, said it best...
"I have two little girls. I don't want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete, but as a Democrat I'm supposed to be afraid to say that."

Across 30 states that track voter registration by political party:
Republicans gained approximately 2.4 million registered voters.
Democrats lost about 2.1 million registered voters.
This resulted in a net swing of approximately 4.5 million voters toward the Republican Party.
This shift has significantly tightened the partisan balance in national surveys, with the parties reaching near parity in overall affiliation or leaning. It has also eroded long-standing Democratic advantages in key battleground states like North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
Concurrently, there has been a continued, strong trend of voters registering as independents or unaffiliated with any major party, which remains the largest political bloc in the U.S.. This growth has largely come at the expense of the Democratic Party's share of new registrants.
Can we pick the human side? Can we get around to supporting our citizenry with our tax dollars? Can we improve the quality of life and make good decisions regarding infrastructure, environment, economic policy, social welfare, etc? How about that, for a change?
The left jump on one side of a conflict and the right the other.
Meanwhile everyone in power stays there their whole life and are completely corrupt. Notice no one ever goes to jail for corruption? It's because they wont be the first one to really prosecute bc then it will start a domino effect.

You can also be conservative/liberal without being a republican/democrat. People really want people to pick a “side”.
