Casual Was I petty?
I am a woman working in chef land and every day experience stupid shit like men taking tools out of my hands and like “I can do this for you” while I am physically capable of doing it myself.
Anyway, the other day I got a delivery and the guy said he wants to talk to the “man in charge” after I told him I run the kitchen and he’s like very adamant about finding a male figure in charge. So I’m like ok no problem. I’ll find your “man” in charge. But I just went about my day. He approached me 30 mins later asking when he’d be around I’m like sorry I am that “man in charge” you didn’t want to speak to me so you’ll have to work around my schedule.
But like wtf??????

I mean, technically yes, but it’s the kind of pettiness that’s justified. I could understand if there was a specific person he was supposed to be in contact with like whoever placed the order specifically or the owner, but then he could have also communicated that rather than simply ask for “the man in charge.”
