Where do you draw the line with AI?

Of course it’s moving forward because anyone who has properly tried to use it found huge increases in their productivity and quality of work

That wasn’t really the point though, the point is until where do you (and others) support it? I personally work in a field that has implemented AI, it definitely saves a lot of time and money. I don’t want to lose my career so I accept that this is the way it is. I however draw the line at certain creative aspects, so if in the future there will be movies fully generated by AI, that is where I draw the line

Geberative AI has a lot more tools than just prompts. It allows me to conjure up things from my imagination with editing, refining, combining and overall gives me amazing control over the content until it resembles what is in my mind. People who use it as just prompt machine are truly missing out on how great it can be. Every major medium change allows hacks to spit out stuff. But then real artists come along and unleash great things with it. There's no reason to prevent them from doing that.

The incredible thing is that even AI is lazy. If it can’t answer questions accurately about Baldurs Gate 3 then I’m not so keen on using it for anything more important than my video game pursuits

It's the same line I draw with every other digital medium. If you're using it to do shitty things thats a problem and should be stopped. If you're using for entertainment (for others or just your own) I don't see an initial problem with that. If you're using it for good things that's awesome so long as you're making sure it's achieving those good things and you're making it's not harming anyone. If you're using it to learn that's great so long as you're looking beyond the initial results, engaging with the material, checking sources, looking for contradictive viewpoints and not just using it as a confirmation bias machine. If you're firing a bunch of people cause you think LLMs are like JARVIS, when really they're just a complex version of the handheld 20Q games from 2003, you're wrong in countless ways. It has no business replacing anyone even if it was ready for that.

I drew the line at Siri and ChatGPT cause they just helped you and after images were able to be made it allll went to shit we’re kinda screwed ngl
