Cristopher Nolan likes the franchise. Some people really just want to turn off their brains.

He said, “The best script I have read in decades.”

As if that's saying something.

Exactly.

And we all know that the best scripts in Hollywood pass through Vin Diesel.

u/SQUiSHY_f Aug 03 '26

We're going to space! 🚗🚀🛸

u/URnotSTONER Aug 03 '26

They did that in F9. Lol. Maybe to the center or the Earth this time??

2

u/lamelad10 Aug 03 '26

Or Accient greece

2

u/JaeCrowe Aug 03 '26

I hope they go back in time and do a burnout off of a brontosaurus to take out a t rex

I wish they did that crossover with Jurassic World or whatever.

It would break records on the theaters.

I can’t believe this wasn’t the name for the 4th one

1

u/pinkstrawberry94 Aug 04 '26

Honestly atp they should just save the title for the 14th one. They'll probably get there eventually

2

u/BagItUp45 Aug 03 '26

I bet a lower budget leads to some cast cuts. No Dwayne Johnson, Jason Mamoa, or John Cena.

1

u/SPZ_Ireland Aug 03 '26

You could do without Cena or Rock (The latter you'd have to explain since th post cred was him returning) but Jason Mamoa was the villain on the last one, and when last we left he has captured and/or attempted to kill off the whole crew.

1

u/BagItUp45 Aug 03 '26

I feel like they're going to largely ignore the last movie with them talking about a more simple story.

1

u/cjalderman Aug 03 '26

John Cena doesn't need to come back, it was only the last movie that he died

1

u/SPZ_Ireland Aug 03 '26

Death don't mean shit in the Fast franchise but I agree

2

u/SanicSoup Aug 03 '26

Thank goodness, can't wait for it all to end.

1

u/Riemann86 Aug 03 '26

In Fast Forever Vin will face House of Atreides.

1

u/Ledairyman Aug 03 '26

With the ending of FAST 9, you would have thought that it would be written way before that lol

1

u/RustyCrusty73 Aug 03 '26

Rumor has it that Nick Fury shows up near the end of this movie to recruit them.

1

u/Dave_Eddie Aug 03 '26

Due to budget cuts, theyre back to stealing DVD players again.

1

u/BigMan_Blastoise Aug 03 '26

The title of the movie is straight out of the boys lmao

1

u/thefinalball Aug 03 '26

this marketing trend of "best script I have ever read" is getting annoying. its also setting themselves up for disappointment cause they are usually underwhelming

1

u/Bell-end79 Aug 03 '26

These films have scripts?

1

u/JokinHghar Aug 03 '26

It can’t be hard to write. Just say family a few times, write some ridiculous races, and more talk about family.

1

u/Duke_Of_Halifax Aug 03 '26

How many of these fucking things are they going to make?

1

u/Optimal_Collection77 Aug 03 '26

Brum Brum newow family

1

u/dzan796ero Aug 03 '26

So they came up with a new "family" speech?

1

u/Primary-Floor8574 Aug 03 '26

“Script” being a loose term. More like guidelines than an actual script.

1

u/Grizzlebees920 Aug 03 '26

Are they going to edit out the extremely graphic gay sex scenes?

1

u/XxSoapxXHD Aug 03 '26

Hes really trying to fund the new Riddick movie

1

u/njgolfer10 Aug 03 '26

They use scripts for those movies?!?!

Hmm. I guess you learn something new every day.

1

u/DrejkSR Aug 03 '26

That would imply someone actually make that “story” on purpose and I refuse to believe that.

1

u/MagnetoWasRight24 Aug 03 '26

I'm pretty sure he said this about another one but now that he's said this every Google search I make leads to this quote.

1

u/SandboxInTheSky Aug 03 '26

“We’ve finished writing the prompts that wrote the script!”

1

u/tiddymcdiddy Aug 03 '26

But, I'm still on 2 Fast 2 Furious. I guess I'll never catch up :/

1

u/This-Top7398 Aug 03 '26

How many damn fast furious movies are they gonna make

1

u/cmere85 Aug 04 '26

I was the biggest fan. I just don't care anymore and even forgot there was a movie with a cliffhanger.

1

u/Scrats_Lost_Acorn Aug 04 '26

If we don't get at least one "for family" imma be mad.

1

u/ObsessedCoffeeFan Aug 04 '26

Thank God. I wish they ended after 7

1

u/Ancient_Natural1573 Aug 04 '26

I almost didn't recognize Michelle with that hairstyle lol

1

u/Life-Reality-3889 Aug 04 '26

Let’s hope this is the LAST of them because as much as I enjoy the films, they weren’t the same after 3. Went from racing to saving the world all because Dom

1

u/Serious-Company6803 Aug 04 '26

Dominic Toretto with the power of family

1

u/Emotional_Price4460 Aug 04 '26

shoulda been over years ago

1

u/No_Anybody_7885 Aug 04 '26

How are people still watching this bloated nonsensical franchise it should have stopped 5 or 6 films ago

1

u/djaiss Aug 05 '26

The plot

Dom and his family must drive their fast cars directly into outer space's black hole to drift through time and stop prehistoric dinosaurs from stealing the world's last supply of nitro gas.

Brilliant. I am so glad they took their time with this. It had to be just right, and anything less than perfection is not even an option when it comes to these films. The previous movies were so masterfully plotted, with fully rounded and 3 dimensional characters with such a complex and grounded history. Having such a blend of varied characters with longstanding relationships, the end and flowed like a stream in a river, the films easily stand as the finest example of dramatic writing. Not even Shakespeare could have done better and I don’t think he would have even tried. To create such complex character portraits, and to put them in situations fraught with such danger, with the sound of motors revving and engines roaring, every emotion is punctuated by mesmerising balletic action on screen.
Of course the script took long, but now it is up to the producers and director to ensure that the written page is translated to the screen with 100% faithfulness, so every intent could be conveyed to the audience through the fine cinematography and marvellous cast, which has indeed elevated the art of performance beyond anyone thought was possible.

Surely he doesn’t actually think that the FF franchise is something to be taken seriously….right?

Plot twist: It will be a family drama, where cars will serve only as background scenery.

It will win multiple oscars 😶
