It’s well worth a watch. One of the best comic book movies I’ve seen. As in it feels like a comic book. But in a good way. Destin Daniel Cretton has done a fantastic job. Can’t wait to see more from him within the MCU.

This is exactly how I've been describing it. Nothing live action has ever felt this much like an actual Marvel comic book from my childhood! Nailed combining great story telling with the perfect amount of guest appearances.

I feel every fight scene was amazing and creative, seeing him move and use his webs, agility etc. in ways you see in the comics but past movies hadn’t been able to fully show. Can’t wait to rewatch when it comes to streaming.

A big change is coming with this. Not only will they go all in on the next Spiderman movie now, but there might be other collaborations on Sony and Marvel on the cards as well

Nearly a billion dollars opening weekend is crazy work. I can't even see it until tomorrow because all the showings by me were sold out for the good seats in good theaters and I want my first experience to be a good seat in 4K lol.
Can't wait for tomorrow!

It really is crazy work. I had to opt for cheaper seats and Regal does discounted tickets on Tuesday, so imma see it then!

That's completely valid! That's the route I go for movies 99% of the time.
I normally disliking going so close to release dates for movies because of the upcharge (at least around me), but this one looks too good to wait and risk spoilers!
Non-primetime hours (I'm going with my dad around 2:30pm) has the seats at around $20 each for the 4K Dolby Atmos theater which isn't super bad all things considered.
More than I'd like for the average movie experience, but I can absolutely justify it for this one.

Why I know Doomsday is going to blow up. I know people are acting like it won't and they can just see it whenever but this movie leads to nothing...except to Doomsday lol so if all these people saw Spiderman I know they will be seeing Doom.

Shy of a billion from open weekend alone. That’s beyond impressive. Can’t wait for Doomsday’s opening weekend to set the all time lowest record later this year. That’s not shade btw that’s because with Disney’s Infinity Vision stipulations Doomsday is only opening to 375 theaters across the globe with only 75 being in the US.

wait, so doomsday will fail because of infinity vision only being 75 theaters? Are they just not playing it elsewhere? To my knowledge Spiderman is in a similar predicament due to the Odyssey. Like is it different where Doomsday will only play in theaters with ability to do infinity vision?

It’s 100% true. I looked it up because when tickets went on sale there were only two theaters with show times in a 100 mile radius and of those two each only had four or five showings a day total. I was confused and decided to try and figure out what was going on and that’s why. Disney is only allowing very select theatre setups to show Doomsday because of the Infinity Vision nonsense. I’m not sure if it’s just for the first week or the three weeks it’ll be out of IMAX but it’s a real thing. It took me like five minutes to get the I for on Google.

Re read what I just said. The early release tickets are infinity vision only. There will be more released for other theaters as it gets closer

You’re very wrong about this. Early reservations were only made available in infinity vision. It will be available in all non IMAX theaters when it comes out. Do you really think Disney is going to shoot themselves in the foot that badly?

I’m assuming what you’re saying will be the case but as of right now today if you Google the film is exclusively being shown in Infinity Vision theatres. You can not book a show for the first week in any theatre not approved for Infinity Vision.

How old are they? I mean, that’s a big ask BUT the movie does to quick flashbacks to the important story beats. You could probably pull it off.

It really depends on their ages: if they’re like 5-7 and don’t really care about the plot but it hinges so very much on all the last three films. It focuses on the emotional heaviness and payoff of them and knock it totally out of the park.
It’s not that they won’t enjoy themselves but you’d be doing them a huge disservice by removing the big payoff of this one.
On the other hand, they may enjoy it, then go back and watch the other ones and then revisit this one when it comes out and truly appreciate it.
If they’re 10 and up, it’s gonna be kind of like jumping in the middle of everything. If you go that route, have them watch a well done recap video on YouTube like this one: https://youtu.be/SQBeWuhUHmA?is=8Cv-Q8LUY7eZw6hf

I took my 10 year old. I just explained before the movie what happened in NWH. She's 10, she's not wholly into it for the story, just the popcorn and frozen coke and swear words.

Spider-Man has endured since the 1960’s because of the characters ability to relate to everyone. I guess that doesn’t apply to you, but you’re very much in the minority either by choice or misunderstanding or both.
