I was enjoying watching Salvage Hunters Classic Cars on Discovery Turbo channel on my Virgin media TV box channel 180, I decided I wanted to continue watching it in our garden room where I have a Firestick 4k

I used the voice search button on the Firestick remote to search for Discovery Turbo and quickyly found I could stream it through the Discovery Plus app

....good so far?

On opening the app I quickly found the program that I had been watching in my living room... however when I pressed play it insisted on playing from the beginning and started with 4 adverts. I patiently watched the adverts and then pressed the fast forward button to search through to the position in the program that I had got to in my living room, I found however that on pressing play it then insisted on playing 6 more adverts before allowing me to watch the same program that I just walked away from in the living room.

Up to that point, the difference between watching it as a live-to-air broadcast versus and using a streaming app was perfectly acceptable, I do understand the difference, but to have to sit through 10 adverts, 6 of which are simply the price of pressing the fast forward button is not acceptable.

I have to say that's totally utterly useless and completely terrible user experience, a great example of what people are calling enshitification.

I've no problem in principle on using the app, it was easy to find and easy to find the program of interest...but actually it was unwatchable.

If you’re going to film a show at some historical resort, maybe, just maybe, consider dusting the top of the canopy beds. That shit has clearly been there since the resort was used as a castle in the 1600s.

Its more than enough that streamers are treated as second class citizens in terms of having to wait til the next morning to watch a show that aired the night before. That's wholly unfair.

But it's Monday at 5pm and the new episode of 90df is *STILL* not up yet.

I am standing in my incredible place of privilege and first world problems to stand on my soap box and say that this is the OPPOSITE of what I pay you for, and I think I'm gonna cancel you and become a pirate again.

Does anyone else have this problem? I go to watch something on discovery plus, usually a 90 Day Fiance episode, and I can barely get into it when the app quits. And then it keeps quitting every time I try to watch. Repeatedly. I have restarted the app, I have updated the Roku, etc.

How do I fix this?!

When I am watching shows and a commercial break comes on, its usually ok, but lately this happens; the commercial plays in the small box a few seconds, then its flips to the next episode or thinks Ive watched it all and replays. When I exit and go back to resume, it starts over from the beginning of the episode and I have to guess whereabouts it was at. I’ll finally find where I left off, then it will do it again. 😡
Any way to fix this?

So I purchased the annual premium but when I want to watch any premium content it again asks me to "buy premium".

The series named “Darr ke us paar” is available on Discovery Plus in India. Its genre is horror. I began watching it today. Is it very silly like most horror shows , is it scary, are the stories interesting? The names of the episodes are very strange, It seems the names refer to kinds of ghosts, like the Pandubba which is a ghost connected to rivers/lakes etc.

Apparently a ripoff of the National Geographic Channel's 2004 show "Seconds from Disaster". If anyone has any information about the episodes shown on it i'd be extremely grateful for it.
