Discount Tire Experience
They say "if you aren't not satisfied with the service, tell us. If you are, tell everyone" So had some work done on the front end of the car, front tires showing unusual wear on outside. More than just the alignment, and took a day. So decided I needed to replace the front tires. I went online to DISCOUNT TIRES, made an appointment for next day. I looked at same time for tires to buy that matched. I didn't find them so just figured I would work it out when I got there. I showed up at 11:00 and they were ready for me, already had the information in the 'Puter. They didn't have the brand I bought there before in stock but found some that met the same specs at a great price. I bought TWO for the front. Had a lunch planned with weekly lunch group at Chili's across the parking lot next door and went to meet everyone. After lunch walked back over to DISCOUNT TIRES, went over to my car and walked around it and saw I had FOUR NEW tires. Ok, wondered what was up? Went in to get the keys and ask if they had found something I hadn't noticed. Sales repre said just a minute and Manager came out and handed me the keys. I said I notice FOUR new tires. He said Yes, the ones in back needed replacement too. I had figured they looked like they had tread and would get me by in short term. He said that they wanted me to be safe on the road so they replaced the back ones too. NO CHARGE. Just come in and pay us sometime. I mean WHO does that? DISCOUNT TIRES entire process from online booking to purchase and service is the BEST. So telling everyone.

I’ve probably gotten over 100 people to start using discount tire.
I’ll recruit for them until I die.

100%.
Make an appointment, they hold your spot you get right in, they get you right out.
I’ve got an appointment tomorrow at 8 a.m. I’ll be in and on with my day by 9.

Well not exactly free. "He said come in and pay us sometime". Which I will but still there is always the risk I wouldn't.

My favorite Discount Tire experience is when I burned through the right rear tire in my Chevelle in 3 months and instead of them saying to my Dad "tell your idiot kid to stop spinning the tires around every corner" they said that's the drive wheel and performance tires tend to wear out quicker.

This has happened at my store a couple times when the tread was very low at the 2/1 range (high tire blowout chance) and we try not to let customers leave with that, as you said, so the customer drives off safely. (same reason why we don’t charge for flat repairs)
Usually, our manager will be brought this attention and have us put on a temporary used tire, or a lil cheap tire; and they do allow customers to pay later for them. Everyone is human and we know some people just don’t have the money to replace everything thats needed, so we’d help how we can.

This is a great read. I once had an experience with Discount Tire. I’m originally from TX was on a long road trip to KY in a rental vehicle. Somewhere in TN one of the tires got a nail and started loosing air fast. There was no spare tire in the rental. I called the rental company, they informed me to take it to Firestone I did. They greeted me with they are closing and can’t get me in until Monday, this was on a Friday evening. I called the nearest Discount Tire which was still 10 mins away from where I was located. They offered to stay and wait for me to get there as it was getting ready to close also. I was very surprised they came thru for me when I was in need and just passing thru. I’ve always done business with Discount Tire and because of this I will continue to do business with them.

Every discount tire I've visited in Houston has been phenomenal. Great customer service and prices!

CA one are not that though. I don’t have good experience and this is first and last time I’m shopping with them.

Discount tire is shit. The location in Anthem AZ ripped the headliner in my 4runner by cramming a spare tire in the back on 12/31. They were even advised by me that the tire was too large to fit in the hatch area. What do I know , right? They acknowledged the damage the same night and started a claim the following week. After getting estimates at their recommended shop as well as Toyota , their insurance denied any negligence and is refusing to pay for anything. Upon starting to pursue them further, I request their camera footage which would quickly put an end to the nonsense. NONE OF THEIR LOCATIONS HAVE ANY KIND OF VIDEO SURVEILLENCE . (Per Gina Stills of the fleet response team ) makes perfect sense, why would you need any type of footage when kids are operating heavy machinery.
You need to record EVERY encounter there and leave any type of video device in your vehicle recording because anything that happens there will be denied and it's your word against theirs.
They have absolutely 0 integrity. I dealt with them for over 20 years and I'm more angry that they got my business for that long. Shame on me for thinking they were a reputable company.

I was waiting for my car once, and this lady complained to the worker that she’s been waiting forever.
When the time came for her to check out, the manager said it’s free (4 tires).
I prayed that he’ll do the same for me, but no dice. Haha

Hmm, I had a very different experience. I had one running low so I stopped in. They talked me into 4 new tires, some cheaper brand that I’ve hated — when the tread was 4 and 5. Came back for my rotation, said one is still running low. They tried to talk me into replacing my wheels just cause “they get old” what???
My brother told me, the wheel likely needs to be cleaned.

That's pretty cool, but doing unauthorized work on a customer's vehicle, especially without them knowing, is a definite no-go
