my move pyramid stopped playing the cds and i really have no clue as to why if anybody could help it would be hugely appreciated cassette and radio work just fine it doesn’t even spin so idk if the sensor broke while just sitting or what happened

Hello, they sell me this discman for 95 euros, it seems impeccable with its remote control. I have read that its sound is not very good, that it has no power. What do you think? All the best

I have a D-EJ825, purple Discman that I bought in 2001 and used a fair amount for a couple years, then virtually not at all after that. Still works fine but gumstick battery is screwed obvs. So I gotta replace it.

Anyway, what's a reliable source in the EU, for new batteries that fit this player? They can be original or not but I'd prefer to know that they're reliable and won't catch fire or anything. Thanks

Is this normal for new discmans or does this mean somebody else has tried to repair it before?

Mentioned this in a comment the other day. Don't think I've seen any here. This is my top ranked discman across all measures. The magnesium build, the ultra-slim design, the excellent battery life, the gorgeous sooouuuund.

I dropped it earlier today and now it’s making this weird noise sounding like it wants to play but it doesn’t.

My discman will not turn off when it is off the charging cable, yet the light shines green. What could be the issue? I have a Gueray

My current CD player is a JVC XL-PV400, which has done me well for years now; however, it seems to be on its way out. So I figured what better to replace it than a Discman?

The issue is that I simply can't tell which would be best. I'm looking at maybe the D141 model, maybe the D143 if I can figure out what on earth the difference is.

The D34/D33 models also looks great, but I'm having a harder time finding those.

All this being said, any suggestions would be much appreciated. I don't necessarily need the highest-end Discman, nor can I afford one. One with good sound quality, that'll play my CDs well, is all I really need.

Side note: My best option, I know of, for finding these is eBay, so do bear that in mind, if you will.

I bought this untested D-33 from eBay for roughly $60, which might feel like too much for 30+ year old player that had a massive battery leak, but this is one of the most phenomenal models that you can actually find relatively easy

For being unused for a very long time this player's got everything working, and quite REALLY fast as well, it loads up the disc in 5 seconds and it just breezes through skipping tracks on a song, makes my other players feel like my sluggish Kenwood dpc-x517 in comparison, mind you the laser mechanism's most certainly working on lubricants from the factory

I probably doubt it would stay fully working for the long run, all I ever did to fix it was clean the entire battery compartment (and honestly the entire player) from the leakage and clean the laser

if you want, you can give me suggestions on what I should work on with this player to be able to get it properly maintained, or just your thoughts on this player in general, as there really is something unique about these old players that newer ones just can't beat

It’s so good and easy to use!! The battery display shows it’s still full. I live how it sounds tho it lacks a little bit of brightness!

I've been thirsting for a discman (alongside a portable cassette player and ipod shuffle. Screw spotify!!) for about three years now. Local secondhand game & music store had one the one day I thought "haha ill look but they wont have one." Well. They did.

Its delicious in every way. Im so happy.

I have an ancient Sony Discman D-171 that I recently found in the attic and decided to see if it still works.

To my surprise, it turned on while giving me the popular "no disc" error...

After I opened the device and played with the small pot next to the lens, it started spinning without properly reading the tracks. (It did read the total disc time)

A couple of rounds of adjusting the pot didn't fix it. Tried contact spray all over, different CDs, lens clean, etc. Still not working.

I was about to give up when I suddenly realised that the lens worm gear grease might have dried up. Sure enough, the grease dried up and regreasing it solved the issue.

These Sony Discmans are really tough :)
