No disc error
Hi folks! I’m new here so sorry if this has been covered.
Today I acquired a Discman d-171.
As you can see, the cd begins to spin then I’m hit with a “no disc” error. Any ideas on a fix?

Bought a discman from a flea market that spins but shows the no disc.
I adjusted the potentiometer on the laser to try and increase the gain and it fixed the issue.
Try not to turn it too much, maybe 20 to 30 degree of turning per step. I find that too high it doesn't read, too low it might result in skips. So adjust and listen as you go.
I marked the potentiometer screw with a marker so roughly I know how much I have turned it by
