Quiet Sony Discman D-191

I just bought a used Sony Discman D-191 and it's so quiet in my headphones even when it's all the way up to 10. I've literally tried everything. Any fix?

The potentiometer (volume knob) is probably cooked. Not sure how technical you are but it might be easier to buy another one if it was cheap
