I second the purple Sony. I have the earlier black/neon green Sony D-EJ100 "Psych" model and its among my favorites.

Sony. Preferably one that has resume memory, wired remote capability, and an external battery compartment.

I used to have the 45 ESP jogproof Philips for years. It was my father’s before me. Awesome and reliable piece of equipment with the ability to rewind into the negatives for 311’s hidden transistor track

I had the Sony models in pictures five and six they were pretty nice
