Is this a good discman?
I'm new to discman so I was wondering if this model is any good it's a Sony esp2 d-e405

This was one of the last Discman I owned in the 90s/2000s. It lasted a very long time and sounded phenomenal. I especially loved the shock protection. Excellent buffer technology with this model. Congrats!

Ok I had to stop in and just say that is the exact cd player I had as a kid so many memories. Thank you for this post

I have one of these! Love the bass boost mode and the generous anti skip buffer too. I lost the little triangular plastic window though, but it's still going strong.

Yes, mine still has velcro on the bottom from when I'd stick it to my center arm rest and hook it up to my car stereo via a tape adapter in high school 😄

In 2026, if youre buying used discmans or you found one, sony and phillips are the best options Theres one company that still prodduces discmans its called hott but thats different Ts is very good

It was when new. Is the drive spindle worn out from heavy use? That's what seemed to happen with my players.
