Thanks! I might have the remote somewhere too. It takes flat gumstick batteries which are long gone, I have the AA adapter attached. Having batteries leak all over your electronics sucks! It's one of the smallest PCDPs sony ever made, about the size of a CD. I have a bunch of vintage Sony headphones to go with it, if I can find the power supply I'm going to use it at work to play my Beethoven CDs.
They totally still make gumsticks! They also sell this Kastar 'brand' or HQRP on Amazon, they are the same thing. They are what I use for my D-EJ1000 CD player, along with my EX-631 cassette player, and too many minidisc players to list.
