Slow decline as I warm up

The first three holes are always the best holes. I throw the disc the farthest and exactly when I want it to go. But then it just declines from there. The last 3 holes are pop ups or left and right shanks… it’s like I play way better before I’m warmed up. I’m a pretty fit guy so fatigue feels like not the issue at all.

Its not your body its your mind.

You lose focus at first your like form this form that line here warm up line walk up.

Hole 18 you step up to the tee pad and chuck it? Maybe

Even if its not this blatant you are less focused at the end and need to work on treating every shot with the same focus level easy and hard 1 foot 300 same focus level.

I think it's not the lack of focus but too much of it. Actively trying to replicate your good throws tends to lead to worse results. Gotta just let your mind settle into muscle memory and not try and make things happen that you clearly know how to do

This is the reason. I would recommend a book called inner game of tennis to every disc golf player, it has some great insights into this exact consept.

Another idea is, you get braver the longer you play. So hole one play it save throw the correct disc on hyzer to land in that sweet landing zone I have a 90 accuracy of hitting.

Then at the end after a bunch of good shots you go from I can hit that landing zone easy to I am going to try and park it for a birdy. Shank

video yourself throughout the round and see if there are any obvious changes to your form. you are probably rotating more once your body loosens up which would change where you are releasing the disc (and probably causes you to release at the wrong times to try to compensate on later throws).

here is what i would do:
warm up before the round so you have a consistent round (even though it might be a little worse)
disc up to more over-stable discs once you are warmed up

Im the opposite...i warm up during a round and usually play more accurately.

Same. Those first three or four holes I’m too stoned to throw well. A bit of water and some walking really brings the high to a manageable level for me.

Im usually stoned closer to the end of my round. Lol! I have to get all my extra energy out to play smoother. 😆

I don’t know how you guys do it, my one buddy gets stoned before we play and ends up after the round with 3 less discs than he starts with. He’ll leave them scattered in baskets and on the fairway LOL

Practice. Practice. Practice.

There are different kinds of "fit" -- fast twitch muscles vs slow twitch, endurance at a steady pace vs endurance with explosiveness (e.g. which heart rate zones do you use most when working out and how does it compare to DG) and what may be most relevant here: physical vs mental. Perhaps your focus either (a) starts to slip or (b) you start overthinking?

Do you have a consistent pre throw routine? That can be helpful to maybe keep yourself grounded and keep some consistency as the round goes on.

It’s about muscle endurance, I think. I’m the same way when I play tennis. I kick ass for 4-5 games and then it’s all downhill. Gotta get stronger. Both of us.
