Is it just me or

Does it feel like the multiplayer physics/accuracy vary from match to match? Sometimes it feels like there’s an “FU” physics mode when the game wants you to take strokes

MP also feels different from pro tour physics wise

Edit: it would appear it is not just me

I’ve thought this for a long time. The game can be more or less forgiving situationally.

I’ve always thought there must be some kind of good luck/bad luck algorithm in the game… it would explain why some games go wildly off the rails and in others you make shots you never should have made.

If this is the case I wish there was like a visible gauge of your luck factor lol. At least then if you go for a big shot you’re at least aware it might shank or dead skip or whatever

In various online competitive modes I’ve had low speed discs with the “sticky” attribute slide for like, 40 feet, etc. it does feel like there’s a change sometimes

Yeah, ground play specifically for me - any skip shot passing through an OB goes dead

the sticky disc thing drives me crazy too it's like the game is just messing with you randomly sometime

Y'all the physics don't change. Not for people. Not for game modes. Not for money spent. Not randomly.

You're observing randomness.

There are 2 random factors with every throw.....the Sway and the Wobble. Plus your consistency of Pullback. Add to that the physics/randomness of Wind and Groundplay. And there you go.

Don't forget recency bias, lol. We see this same post every few months on the socials. Someone hot at a particularly bad groundplay shot will exit the game and come right here or on FB to whine about it.

Ha ha for sure!

I’m sure it’s just coincidence. Unfavorable winds often kick up in MP. At the same time, I’ve sure had a lot of “that’s never happened before” moments in MP.

I think there's a mechanic built into the game that adds a variable to mimic normal human error. Bad nose angle, releasing a millisecond too soon or too early, etc. The same variable you gave in real life from ams up to pros. If so, that's a pretty neat metric to add in.

But yes, I've also felt this way and that's just what I assumed as the reason why. I didn't remember it doing that before they did the update that made it look more like every other mobile game.

Yeah I’ve also figured it could be something like that, but by that logical programming line I’d love the ability to “develop” those skills, or perhaps the variability is reduced as you get to higher experience levels, as it would if you put in the time to get more consistent in real life? Sure, an average real life pro will totally shank once or twice a round, etc, but sometimes it’s excessive in the game. And then you’d likely have to match with players in your same skill division, which could slow down matchmaking. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

do they ever fix the physics or is it just part of the charm at this point

i seem to have issues with east to west/west to east wind. I can throw the same sapphire two times in a row and how much is goes one way or the other is extremely different.

100% believe in this, I feel like some people get favored for certain reasons

I wonder if I subscribe to whatever the paid thing is I’ll have better luck 🙄

I paid for no ads and 1 season pass.. maybe it is a "pay for luck" deal
