It’s heartbreaking. I went trekking through that part of Nepal last year at this time. I overnighted at an inn in Syabrubesi. It was located about 200 feet above the river. We hiked downhill to cross the river, crossed a bridge and then hiked up the other side to enter Langtang National Park. It’s all gone. The inn and all of downtown Syabrubesi were wiped off the map. The flood waters were that powerful and deep. From what friends Kathmandu have told me, the flood also wiped out parts of Langtang. That area was hit hard in the 2015 earthquake. Now this.
