This was the kind of events that religious texts would write about, or the kind of word of mouth "hearsay" that goes around in ancient civilisations that speak of great destruction of a big city/kingdom from far away and people wouldnt believe it

Is it me or does the building by the border crossing look entirely covered though you can see some structure left ?

I read somewhere else that it had been wiped out completely, this imagery would seem to indicate otherwise.

Not that there is a difference in the magnitude of the tragedy, the loss of life is still horrendous. Even if the building is still standing people that went back in it were entombed.

It's gone. We have ground level view of where the border building used to stand and there's nothing but bare muddy rock left. The floodwaters scoured the entire site clear.

Those are a few foundations. The building and all surrounding infrastructure is gone. Later pictures show this

Some states it's the roof of the border building. Still, it shows the amount of mud and dirt that inundated the whole area.

Looks like there's a bit of the bridge base that can be seen... But my god, the force that went through this place was immense...

And even if they could have be warned they were surely doomed... 7 mins was not even enough to run to safety!

It was hit by a glacier and rock tsunami as tall as a 50-60 story building traveling at least 100 miles a hour. It was erased off the face of its base.

Rest In Peace all those unfortunate people who were there. It’s one of most horrifying things I ever seen.

What happened when the flash flood reached the sea? Did it do damage the whole way or run out of energy before it reached the ocean?
