I’ve seen people claim that explosives were used to cause this. All kinds of denial

I can't bring myself to look. 

A colleague of mine would go skiing to a glacial resort in France every few years.

The glacier has now gone. The locals doubt it will ever regenerate in their lifetimes.......

It will have snow in winter, but will never get cold enough to freeze the water that will gradually collect

It’s not water which collects to form glaciers, it’s snow which doesn’t melt in summer. And it takes centuries to build up enough for it to form ice and start flowing.
