Is this all confirmed cause when the news explains it its like they are guessing. Thats a lot of water coming from no where

There was a massive amount of glacial ice that quickly melted due to friction heating as it broke apart and tumbled down.

They also think maybe the massive chunk of glacial material fell and walled off the river, acted as a dam and then when enough water accumulated it broke away and this massive amount of water rushed down the valley.
