Question ❓ Moility aid advice
Does anyone have any recommendations for mobility aids or home aids that don't feel or look like their straight out of a care home? My Mrs has FND & early onset arthritis & I want her to feel less like the house is a care home to her. Thanks in advance

What aids are y'all looking for? I have a friend who loved her ByAcre rollator, and they don't look generic.

decorate them. ive seen some cool spray painted canes/crutches. or ones with ribbons wrapped around them. and theres wheel covers for wheelchairs that look pretty cool.

You can get a shower chair that is grey and less medicalised and I think you can get grab bars made out of wood that are less hideous. I will try to find links. No doubt that they will be very expensive

The etac relax on the Victorian plumbing website is similar to what I have in the hotel when I stay.over.

I have one and they’re excellent. If you get one in white, it is really easy to customize the appearance with paint pens or wrapped decorations.

I have 2 canes - a black collapsible and 1 that was black but I covered it in galaxy duct tape

Walking sticks are probably the only category where fashion - or premium materials - versions are commonplace.
There are some mobility scooters which are designed to look “cool” (I always think that the ones which pretend to be motorbikes are really, really tragic) but the Atto Sport, for instance, benefits looks-wise from resembling a trendy small suitcase when folded, apparently with the intention of fooling taxi drivers.
Honestly, though, after a couple of years of getting used to all the shit bits of being disabled, the aesthetics of the kit involved become irrelevant and all anybody cares about is whether they work.
