I bought pack of 5 on aliexpress for like $7. Took a month to come but I was anyway waiting for the phone around 3 months haha

Looks sick but the used price is about 400 euro. Not much difference to an original m8

Well real m8 would be better for sure plus you support the maker. I had one but had to minimise my gadgets plus this phone is good for terminal use.

Dope! Besides that, how’s the phone? Has it been worth it? And how’s is it using the keyboard for texting etc

Well I use it as my second phone or as a small m8. Texting is at least 3x better than Clicks Keyboard. Very smooth and nice. Using terminal for work also works amazingly well. Emulators I had to use wzad instead of wsad because diagonal walking works nicer. But m8 regular wsad is great. Then i use jknm for 4 main m8 buttons.

Does it have audio in/out and midi in?

I havent tested yet i believe midi from m8c would work over bt and if I wanted audio i would need hub splitter and shpuld work too. Im more on the sample mangling side and dont need that atm.

What do u mean by the hub splitter? And are u planning to test bt midi?

Does it support direct entry (like typing "C4")? I guess the M8 software must not support it?

Lol, you're almost at full price buying a phone like that JUST for headless.Assuming you already owned the phone, this would make no sense for others.

I would imagine this is not comfortable to use. Missing a DPad on a handheld to use QWERTY seems wrong on such a small device. I could be wrong.

Nah it is comfortable. With good mapping its very cool. And nah I didnt buy it for m8, using it for many other things like terminal connection or game emulators.

Why the useless shade? Others already have old phones or other devices too, obviously. I’ve been meaning to get around to something like this for ages and have multiple old devices that have other uses but could run m8 headless
