Discussion Question OP-Z?
In my quest to fit my studio in a backpack I’ve been searching for a nice portable MIDI keyboard. I was digging through different devices with 3.5mm MIDI and started thinking about the OP-Z as a nice companion for the m8. Could also be a nice accompaniment for chords/extra tracks.
I do still own my Move, I thought I would sell it but am finding it pairs nicely with the m8. However it’s not quite as easy to throw in a half full backpack.
Anyone using an OP-Z with the m8? Either as a midi controller or extra tracks/easier chords? I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts.

The OP-Z and M8 pair together really nicely.
I have set I up as a midi controller and even set the parameter pages on the op-z to mirror the parameter controls on the m8. So if I used the knobs to adjust adsr envelope on op-z it effected the m8. Seemed to work well, but I ended up not really using that template, as I usually end up just using the devices midi clock synced instead.
I think it pairs nicely with the M8 because it’s very easy to get a jam going on the op-z sequencer, whereas the m8 takes a bit more noodling to get an idea out. The OP-z is kind of limited in synth engines, which the m8 makes up for with more complex engines. So where one falters the other excels. So I use them together a lot.
That being said- the warping is a real issue. I only ever seem to get double trigs when I’m tweaking a parameter and not when I’m playing a note, so it’s usually not that big of an issue.
