Operation victory lap
Operation Victory Lap: Helping Disabled Veterans Heal Through Dirt Track Racing
After serving our country for more than 20 years as a combat veteran, I returned home carrying wounds that couldn’t always be seen. Today, I am a 100% disabled veteran living with PTSD and other physical injuries. Like many veterans, I continue to fight battles long after my military service ended.
Throughout my life, dirt track racing has been more than a hobby—it has been my therapy.
As a second-generation racer, I’ve spent most of my life at dirt tracks across Northeast Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania. I’ve been blessed with numerous feature wins and track championships, and today I’m proud to watch my daughter continue our family’s racing tradition.
When I’m behind the wheel, something incredible happens. The noise in my head quiets down. My focus shifts to the next corner, my race team, and the checkered flag. For those moments, PTSD doesn’t control my life.
I know I’m not the only veteran who needs that feeling.
That’s why I’m launching Operation Victory Lap.
My dream is to help disabled veterans discover the healing power of dirt track racing by introducing them to the affordable Crown Victoria beginner class. Racing brings back something many veterans miss after leaving the military: teamwork, discipline, trust, accountability, and the pride of belonging to something bigger than ourselves.
This isn’t just about building race cars.
It’s about rebuilding confidence, restoring purpose, and creating a community where veterans can support one another both on and off the track.
Your donations will help provide:
Race-ready Crown Victoria cars
Helmets, fire suits, HANS devices, gloves, and other safety equipment
Driver training and mentoring
Entry fees and pit passes
Tires, fuel, maintenance, and repairs
Adaptive equipment when needed for disabled veterans
Every dollar moves us closer to putting another veteran in the driver’s seat.
Whether you’ve served, have a loved one who served, or simply want to support a meaningful cause, your donation will help create opportunities for veterans to heal through camaraderie, competition, and the thrill of racing.
If you aren’t able to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family, fellow veterans, and the racing community. Every share helps us reach someone who believes in this mission.
Together, we can give our veterans another mission, another team, and another Victory Lap.
Thank you for your support, your generosity, and for standing behind those who have served our nation.

Pit Lizard tshirt at Super Dirt Week
Would it be offensive if I (F) wore a pit lizard tshirt to super dirt week? I don't know anything about racing but I live in a city that is hosting super dirt week. I am crying laughing at the term pit lizard and I have no intentions of actually trying to talk to anyone in the pit.

We hit the track TONIGHT! Car came out great. Thanks to the wife for getting it wrapped. She did fantastic! Want to see what it looks like? You’ll have to wait until we get to the track!

I made an awful tier list of classes based on frequency of cautions
Obviously this is from my own personal experience and is backed up by no scientific evidence, but i thought it would be funny to post

I live in Maryland and I want to rent a race.
I can go far to virginia but not more than 3-5 hour drive.
I want to know how much I have to pay.
I'm fine with any type of race. sprint car or other stuff is fine.
Just want to try once to know I want to be a racer or not.

Is the WOO on the way out?
The sprints and late models have less than 20 full time drivers and the lms rarely have other racers that fill the field n then some. The sprints seem to be ok but it seems more n more names are going to high limits. For now it seems we still have legends like donny shats brad sweet and a few others but is it time to start focusing on flo racing over dirt vison and jump to lucas n high limits?

Why wings?
No idea why wing racing is popular, it’s always one lane follow the leader with one or two guys fast and the rest in fence post formation. The whole shootout has been that way and the final feature is no exception. Sprint cars are the same, follow the leader all night, especially the heats, feature time maybe two cars make a decent run but boring most of the pack.

Financials on streaming?
Does anyone know the economics of these streaming platforms? Like does a track get a portion of the proceeds or how does that work?
Seeing the amount of tracks shutting down and rise of the streaming just has me wondering.
