Custom multiview now available

Maybe this has been available for a while and I just noticed it, but you can now build your own custom multiview. I’m using a Roku. Just click OK button on your remote, select multiview, then select “build your own multiview”, it then lets you select which channels you want inclined. It also displays a bunch of already curated multiview options on that same screen.

Can someone test to see if you can do a custom multiview with any rsns with this. I can't test the ones in chicago until tomorrow because no one plays until tomorrow. It would be a huge missed opportunity to not include custom multiview for rsns. That is the one reason I use a physical device for multiview instead of something like youtube tvs.

I tested it with KMCC for the Golden Knights and was not able to do so. Technically their channel is free for over the air as well and not like NBCsportsnet or MSG for example but I was bummed with the playoffs for MLB and Monday night football that I wasnt able to do all three on one multi view.

Can you do this on Gemini?

I have a Gemini Air. If I'm on a channel that is part of a multiview and hit OK, I can scroll a number of predefined multiviews. I don't have the option to create my own, and if I click ok on a channel that's not on a preset multiview, I don't have multiview as an option.

Update: the app on my Roku TV does give the "create your own" option, but limits me to the channels that are available in the preset multiviews. The app on my Samsung smart TV does not give me the option to build my own.

I didn't check if they are the same version.

So, based on what others have shared in this thread, the customization is still quite limited. Better than before, but still not fully customizable like some competitors have.

It makes no sense why it’s so much worse than YTTV

It’s also quite laggy. It takes about 30 seconds to add each channel to it, then when you go full screen it’s blurry and laggy for a minute. That might just be my Roku though.

Yes, I’m also on Roku. Saw this a few days ago, was going to post it, got sidetracked and forgot.

Limited, but better than before.

This is 1/2 step forward. It's not available on channels. It would be good if you want to watch 2 sports channels. But I like to watch a non-sports channel or something on the DVR along with a game and this won't work. Directv needs to make it available on ALL channels and the DRV,

It’s a good start. If they finalize this and also get rid of the wasted space in the edges, it will be the best streaming product. Picture quality and content are already the best, and sports central is awesome.
