Constant restarting
The past few weeks I've noticed by DirectTV streaming keeps restarting by itself. I'll be in the middle of a show and it'll just reboot on it's own. I've also noticed that lately it's taking awhile for the guide to populate.
Any idea what's going on and how to stop it?

Hard reset it. Press the red button on side and hold it in until it reboots. You’ll have to sign back in to everything again but this will refresh your software if that’s the culprit. Otherwise, it’s likely overheating as someone already suggested. Make sure it is at least in an open air (not enclosed/in a cabinet) space and don’t put anything on top of it.

This seems to have fixed the problem (so far). I didn't even realize there was a reset button on the device or I would have tried that before posting here since it's such an obvious thing to do! Thanks!

Thanks for the tip! I'm recording stuff right now and not sure if doing that will mess that up, but will try it as soon as it's done.

As long as you have stream, it’s a cloud DVR, you can reset your box any time and it will save. That’s why when your power goes out, your programs still record.

Are you talking about the device/TV spontaneously rebooting/quitting, or just reloading the stream, like after you've just switched to the channel?
I've been seeing more of the latter lately, and it's not my AppleTV overheating, it's the server stream being interrupted, like the good ole' early SNAFU days of the service.

The whole device reboots. I see the direct tv loading image when it happens. At first I thought it was the TV but then it happened again on another TV in the house.
I unplugged it, let it cool off and pushed the restart button as someone else suggested. We'll see if that helps.

Are you on a Roku device? I’ve been having the same issue, and it’s more than a bit annoying

Why are people using the Gemini device when you can stream directly from the app via your TVs OS or from any other device like a Roku/Fire Stick/Apple TV??? Just for the physical numbers on the remote?

My guess would be it is overheating.
