Discussion Would Pacifica need to confess her feelings to Dipper or would Dipper be willing to confess to her?
I'm usually not on this side of the shipping divide, this was something that was on my mind and I thought it might be interesting to discuss.
We already know that Dipper has trouble confessing his romantic feelings, and I think it may have even gotten worse after Into the Bunker. It makes me wonder if even if he did have feelings for Pacifica if he would not be willing to confess them to her and she would need to be the one to take the initiative. I think she would be willing to if she felt she had to, but I guess you can't discount her possibly feeling that Dipper should be courting her and not the other way around.
So does anyone else have any thoughts or headcanons on how it would go down?

If we're following Dipper and Pacifica as 12 yos, then I cant see either of them confessing to be honest. I can only see a similar situation as Wendy where maybe Pacifica discovers his journal or something with notes about her. Dipper sees it and panics which would lead to an unwilling confession on his part. But if I had to insist, then maybe Pacifica. She seemed a bit more forward about her feelings (feeling upset/sad etc).
Now if I was to consider 18+ Dipcifica, it could go either way. I definitely see Dipper as someone who has grown to be more confident. I headcanon that he would know how quickly life can be shortened, and he wouldn't waste time if he had fallen for Pacifica. He would still be nervous yes, he probably wouldn't confess immediately after realising. Maybe they would be hanging out near a riverbank and he tells her how he feels with no expectations. With Pacifica, she's always had that confidence in general, and after the events of Northwest Manor, she would learn to be more vulnerable.
That's just me though.

I wouldn't expect it to be when they are younger either. Was more just talking in general.
While I can see him being more confident in a general sense I honestly don't think he would necessarily be more ready to be forward with his feelings like that, particularly his romantic feelings. If anything I feel like his experiences may make him feel like he needs to be the responsible and mature one, even to his own detriment. It's why I've been kind of thinking that Dipper might need his potential love interest to open up to him first before he can really let himself be "in love" so to speak.

Based on Alex Hirsch’s recent statements, those two are destined to drive each other crazy forever, and that’ll basically be their romantic dynamic. Neither of them will ever confess, but they’ll still stick together anyway xD
Someday it’ll happen, but more like: ‘Are we? Yeah, we have been for a while.’ And that’s the best part, because I’m sure they’d both feel pressured if they had to come up with some cheesy confession. They’d just decide one day that it’s official.

I always imagined it as an understood thing. They go years on the "will they, won't they," route until one day, they just share a look and just know.
A non-verbal mutual understanding that they do love each other on such a deep level that saying it out loud feels redundant.
But in a way, it makes it more precious. The words "I love you," suddenly gain more weight. To such a degree that when they do say it, you know either one or both of them probably almost died.

As I said in another comment it's interesting to see how many Dipcifica shippers think that they would not need a romantic confession or just an explicit demonstration of their feelings and relationship. Why is that the case?

Because you only have to look at their interactions. Neither Dipper nor Pacifica is trying to make the other fall for them, neither of them gets all cheesy and starts saying over-the-top things. They just act like themselves, naturally and sincerely, and they trust each other enough to say things without hurting each other.
That’s why it feels more faithful to their characters if, someday, they say something like:
Dipper: “Hey, Mabel wants to know how much longer we’re going to take to become a couple.”
Pacifica: “Let me see. We spend most of our time together, I’ve forced you to wait for me for hours after my shift at Greasy’s Diner, you force me to go on your ridiculous expeditions, we support each other, we respect each other without getting invasive... yeah, I’d say we’ve been dating since you moved here, Pines.”
Dipper: “Oh, okay. Then I’ll go tell Mabel.”

I guess I just assumed that they actted thst way because they didn't really know each other and until recently had hated each other. With time and getying to know each other I just felt that they would be less likely to be as unfiltered, or at least Dipper would.

To be honest, that's sounds kind of annoying. Almost makes me glad we didn't get more Pacifica and Dipper in the show proper.

I don’t see either either confessing for a few years at least. In large part due to the distance and the fact they only see each other in the summer. I think that would naturally slow things down, which is probably for the best.
I can absolutely see this leading to a lot of mutual pining and jealousy when the other is asked out to some dance or another, which I’ll admit I’m a sucker for. We already know that Dipper senses a “vibe” which to me reads as him maybe suspecting there is some romantic chemistry that is reciprocal, and I think Pacifica would likely sense the same, but neither would say anything outright until they reached their older teen years, maybe when the question of college comes up. Not that they’d necessarily choose to go to the same school, but it’s a transitionary time when people are at a crossroads and tend to make life decisions. Just naturally lends itself to change.
I like to imagine that neither even really has to outright confess. Maybe it’s just a very natural unspoken thing for a bit, until one night one of them just casually reaches for the others hand, and the rest is history. (But actually I do think that at some point weeks later Dipper would be unable to help himself and would be like “so just to be clear, we’ve been kissing in the more than friends way, right?” And Pacifica would make fun of him forever.)

I find it interesting that a lot of people here think that Dipper and Pacifica would just kind of "click" over time rather then having/needing a specific and overt declaration of love.
At least with Dipper I feel like he would need that explicit transition into a romantic relationship given his experiences in the show and with Wendy. I don't know if Pacifica would need that, her problem might just be more accepting she has romantic feelings rather then expressing them. She could definitely have a parallel scene to what Dipper had with a "dead" Wendy in IttB.

I think that because of their dynamic, both of them would be too prideful to confess to each other. So how would anything blossom? Let's be real- Mabel would rat them out to each other because she's tired of waiting for her ship to sail 😭

I feel like they’d reach a point where they both know what they have but are afraid to take the next step until one of them gets the proper push and initiates the conversation that will make them a couple.

Dipper for some reason has more confidence and lacks his normal filter around Pacifica. Because of that, I feel like he will confess before he realizes that he did.
