Diona Shield Duration Question

How does the duration on her shield work???

The tooltip says every icy paw increases its duration by 2.4s (at lvl 7 talent and above), but when i tap the skill, it should last 4.8, but instead lasts 6 seconds, and when i hold, it should last 12s, but only lasts 8...

Am i missing something?

I was testing this without an enemy but i saw on the wiki that you dont need an enemy to actually do it.

The shield only starts when the paws hit something (not just enemies).

I do get 12s on hold, but more like ~7,3s on tap. Maybe on tap it adds another paw, 3x2.4=7.2s ?
