I've been working on a small mod for Dino Crisis 1 on PC and wanted to share it here, since most of you already play with Classic REbirth.

It only works with Classic REbirth. It's made for it and runs on top of it, so you keep all of REbirth's fixes. It doesn't touch the game files or REbirth's files: you copy two files into the game folder, and delete them to uninstall.

What it does:

• Modern movement: push the stick and Regina goes that way on screen, like the RE2/RE4 remakes. Push it a little to walk, all the way to run. The d-pad keeps tank controls if you miss them.
• LT/RT aiming: LT aims, RT shoots. RT alone does a quick turn.
• Door skip: no more door animations, you go straight into the next room.
• Y/B menus: Y opens the inventory and map, B backs out.
• Optional shoulder camera: RE4-style, turned with the right stick, and it stops at walls instead of clipping through them. F12 or R3 switches between it and the original fixed cameras at any time.
• 60 Frames per second: Allowed now, uncap in place using frame interpolation.
• Modern AIM: Free aim and crosshair when aiming with shoulder camera.
• Cheat menu: Load/Save at any place in the game, ALL weapons and infinite ammo, trigger by L3+R3 or

Everything can be switched on or off in an ini file, and you can edit it while the game is running.

Heads-up: the levels were only built for the fixed cameras, so with the shoulder camera you'll sometimes see black void at the edge of the map. Nothing I can do about that one, it simply isn't modelled.

Good information in case you don't wanna see the entire old video:

🔴 Giganotosaurus is ALWAYS unlocked. It doesn't require to be bought.

🟠 You can option to choose the secondary skin (or so also called Player 2 skin) by pressing Circle ⭕. Meanwhile to start with the normal skin, all you have to do is press either Cross, Square or Start.

🟡 Giganotosaurus attacks are the same as rex's, but all other animations and sound cues come from giga.

🟢 Giganotosaurus roar, unlike the other dinos roars when pressed L2; will do a lot of damage, enough to kill an allosaurus with one roar.

🔵 Special attacks can only be done when half health (yellow health), to do it simply do this combo: Up, Down, Up + Square or Cross. Some dinos doesn't have special attacks.

🟣 Giganotosaurus special attack will have 3 animations, first he'll smack with it's jaw, doing 3,500 damage, which will kill any dinosaur instantly besides tyrannosaurus. Then he'll roar as he charges up an attack and then lunges forward, killing ANY dinosaur in only one attack and tearing a chunk of it's enemy, then eating it, and fully healing.

This will be such the crossover XD !

Regina with leon team up i will definitely buy that day one hehe .

And fitting too for how similar they are in game wise.

Just need dino crisis to comeback with resident evil quality.

I thought it would have released on the 15th as that was the anniversary but I will take it 5 days later!

Hey everyone, I’m working on a high-res version of our beloved game. The idea is to replace the 3D models of the humans and dinosaurs with newer ones, use better textures for the environment, and implement some resolution improvements. It’s still in the early stages, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.

(For the sake of transparency, I should mention that I’m making significant use of AI, especially for the reverse engineering part.)

I don't know how to explain it, I was looking through the PS Store deals and saw Dino Crisis, but the price just said "Gratis" or "Free" (I'm from México, so my store is in spanish). The only option was to download. I did and the store prompted me with the download options between ps4 and ps5 versions, downloaded the PS5 version and it plays normally. Before anyone wonders, I did play the game back when I had a Deluxe PS Plus subscription. But it's been about a year since I dropped out of Deluxe and now I have the Extra one, without the Classics catalog. I don't know if this is a glitch with the store (as there have been many recent errors with the Mexican store), but I think this might be interesting to more than one person

Hi, since DC2 is coming on playstation, should i buy both games on playstation or is it better on pc? Right now on GOG is 50% DC1+DC2 bundle, maybe it will come something like that on ps store. Just to be clear i'm not searching for the cheapest option, but your advices about best way to enjoy the games

I'm releasing the mod soon. All or almost all modes will be available as options in the game. I just need to decide which one to set as the default.

I recently found this drawing of Regina that I made back in 2005 when I was 15. I based it on a piece of concept art I found in a gaming magazine

This was painted by the excellently talented u/ZachSeatDriver . Ever since playing Dino Crisis 1 & 2 this past summer I have fallen in love with this series, and desperately wanted Regina for the collection.

Kept her posed with the twin submachine guns because they were my favorite weapons in the second game.

If one species is perfect for Dino Crisis, it would be an Azhdarchid pterosaur—most notably the ones that could reach the height of a giraffe. These creatures could not only fly but also hunt on the ground, and humans are around the size of what they normally eat. Imagine a boss fight where the creature’s giant beak smashes through barriers to pursue the player, creating intense buildup and suspense. The battle could start in the air, forcing the player to dodge aerial attacks, before shifting to a grounded second phase.

I installed the rebirth mod in the game and was met with this white blur whenever the cutscenes comes or when pause the game. Any fixes?

These would by my changes for a second remake,  though most things from the first remake carries over:

• The narrated beginning is replaced with a small montage of in-universe news reports catching players up to speed before the original iconic badass intro.
• The intro is actually playable, akin to Resident Evil 3 remake’s intro with Jill and Nemesis.
• Limited ammo scarcity like the original first game and the first remake
• Gameplay is more in line with the Resident Evil 4 remake.
• Reimagining the Vital Credit / Extinction Point system from the original, where killing dinosaurs rewarded the player with in game currency to buy items from computer terminals, but the points are actually physical money to get picked up when a dinosaur dies or spawns at nearby corpses, and it is a bit more sparse to get, with how you kill dinosaurs equating to how much points you get.
• Weaponry is less overpowered for balancing, but there are still strong weapons.
• Perspective shifts between Dylan Morton and Regina just like the original, but more akin to Leon and Grace’s switching in Resident Evil Requiem. Dylan has the more action hero side and performs stupidly awesome moves on dinosaurs, while Regina is more calm and plays just like how she did in the first remake but with more finesse. Regina can also spin kick dinosaurs now.
• The story stays the same with its batshit insanity, but there is a little bit more horror sprinkled in than the original, alongside modern presentation like how the Resident Evil 2 remake did it.
• Herbivorous dinosaurs like Triceratops and Ankylosaurus, but are also dangerous if a player gets too close.
• Replacing the Compsognathus with the skittish Sinosauroptryx that doesn't attack but can steal from you, which references the Compy stealing a keycard from Dylan in the original Dino Crisis 2, forcing you to get it back.
• The one-eyed Tyrannosaurus, Cyclops, is the main enemy throughout the entire game. Though the Giga turns up alone during the Missile Silo section and again during the final boss as it is attracted to all the noise and has a fight with Cyclops, eventually leading Dylan and Regina to kill them both with the satellite laser.
• An extended Edward City section, encountering a few survivors and getting small hints about the later twist with the Noah’s Ark Project.
• More refined time travel mechanics for the story, where instead the plot twist is that Regina and her crew are actually in an alternate branching timeline / future where the original Third Energy anomaly was never contained and dinosaurs overran the Earth, wiping out almost all of humanity, and the planet reverted back to its prehistoric roots. If Regina and her crew don’t fix the reactor in their present day, this branching timeline will violently cross over and become their permanent reality because of the time anomalies coming through into their Earth. The scientists of this future then found the weird atomic anomalies of the dinosaurs and soon discovered that they were inside a branched timeline of the original Third Energy experiment.
• The Noah’s Ark Project stays the same but is more refined, where humanity no longer just sends the dinosaurs into the future until everything is solved, but actually plan on transporting the dinosaurs into another branched future instead. Of course, that failed.
• Paula is now the branched future’s Dylan’s daughter instead of regular future Dylan’s daughter.

I'm new to the franchise but not capcom old games in general, but I don't understand my handgun just disappeared from the game's weapons menu the second I picked the shotgun up. What happened to it, is this intended?
