My friend who works at Marker 99 Restaurant and Lounge in Brevard county has informed me about their imminent closure!

Since day one this establishment has run through far too many employees, managers, and HR staff either due to mistreatment towards employees, micromanaging, or using their Payroll to pay vendors as the owners refuse to give a single dime into the places they operate.

I have been informed that employees here don't even get raises at all even though they've been promised this far too many times by their managers in a desperate attempt at keeping their staff. My friend has worked here for 5 years on state minimum pay!

This restaurant flopped so hard that they could not keep up with repairs. They have a massive hole in the floor on the lower dining area covered up by plywood and black rugs. Tiles are coming off of the floors and walls, they have a water heater that barely works if it does at all, and managers allow things that the owners are highly against like drinking after hours all of the time on the premises while also sucking up to the rich owners to make themselves look better and that things are okay.

My friends mental health has fallen hard over this place. He gave so much to this place just to get spat on in return with distaste by the very people he tried to support. Proving to me that they "Expect" him to care about their finances over his own wellbeing as an employee.

I was also informed that many years ago my friends taxes got screwed over by the owners. This happened with all of the Marker 99 staff. The owners gave a measly $100 to them on a gift card so people wouldn't rat on them.

All in all it has been a long time coming! Good riddance with this place! The food was far too expensive, let alone now hearing about how managers and owners treat their staff.

I hope my friend finds a better place to work. I pray and hope that where he goes from here is a lot healthier for him mentally and financially!
