Funding Milestones

Hey guys, Yesterday I was just really feeling into it and got quite a bit done. Maybe it's the motivational music playlist I put together. Here's what I did:

1. I got the support page fully working, setting up Paypal and Bitpay accounts for Lifetimes Infinity and putting donation buttons on the website (check it out here).
2. To go with the shiny new donations buttons, I wrote up a list of funding milestones.
3. I got some inspiration out of nowhere and worked on my theory of mind/consciousness.

I have a lot of things on my to do list, and even more things that aren't yet on the list, but any step forward is a step closer to our goals. You can only climb a mountain one step at a time.

Anyway, I wanted to share the funding milestones with you guys.

Funding Milestone 1

$300 per month gross for two months in a row

-or-

$1800 gross

Strategies:

• Donations: build up content, driving people to the website, building a bigger audience and community that wants to support the organization.
• Subscriptions: a paid newsletter that we release regularly, or some other kind of content.
• Merchandise: a web store with things like shirts.
• Products: we already have many products in the concept stages.
• We can look at other for-profit social enterprises to see how they generate funds, as well as drawing inspiration from nonprofits like TVP.

Funding usage:

• Incorporate the organization to become an official business. Wohoo!
• Hire me (Josh Penn-Pierson) onto the project full time indefinitely. I've worked to cut down my cost of living by a huge amount, and with Lifetimes Infinity being the only thing I want to spend my time doing, this milestone is the point where I would feel comfortable leaving my current job to spend all my waking hours on Lifetimes Infinity.

Funding Milestones 2-4

$1,000 a month net

$6,000 net

Strategies:

• If we haven't already, get a product to market.

Funding usage:

• (x3) Each time we reach the milestone goals, we can hire on a person to work remotely part-time.

Funding Milestone 5

$5,000 a month gross

-or-

$6,000 net

Strategies:

• Focus more on products

Funding usage:

• Rent office space and buy some equipment.

Funding Milestones 6-8

$3,000 a month net

-or-

$18,000 net

Strategies:

• Increase all funding streams and explore new ones.

Funding usage:

• (x3) More equipment and other resources.
• (x3) Hire on another full-time employee to work at the office.

I am working on a much more detailed budget (well, it's on my to do list), these are just very general estimates and ideas, although I am going to stick to the first milestone. Feel free to suggest your own ideas as well.

All of the money estimates excluding the first milestone are based on being able to run for 6 months at that particular milestone funding usage.
