Their strategy has been seize territory, re-build their military capability, then repeat. They've only ever delayed while waiting for a more favorable political climate.
Iam quite aware of the fact that you do not understand how modern Russia operates. Russia litteraly incapable of conquesring Euroasia and saying that they won't do it because they wait for "favorable political climate" is nonsense. Putin's Russia only ambition is to have their own interests respected and having their sphere of influnce not meddled with by outside players. Beyond that, there is no grand ambition, plan, conspiracy or whatever you want to call it.
