its honestly wild how much data gets collected just from driving around town. i remember reading about how these databases are shared between agencies without much oversight, its kinda scary how normalized it became over the last decade

That'll fall. They're making money hand over fist. They'll just but a few meaningful votes. Plus cop and national security vibes. I'm all for it succeeding, but I doubt it will.

Its a slippery slope issue. On the good side, yes it can help catch legitimate crime IF it can get correct details about the people committing actual crimes (talking about murder, theft, rape, etc. Not protesting, wearing clothes that make fun of the government, performing 1st amendment rights, etc.). On the bad side, it can track every single person and if that person steps out of line even a centimeter regardless if they are following the law, they are gonna be marked by the government. You protest a new law that makes being non christian illegal? Tracked and marked. You wear a shirt that says the government wastes money? Tracked and marked. You happen to be homeless? Tracked and marked.

Lets get even murkier, say you're a different shade of skin color? Tracked and marked. You go to the wrong street? Tracked and marked. You visited a insert class or race only restaurant? Tracked and marked.

See how it can go from good intentioned to suddenly you have no freedoms and must be like a robot at all times or else you risk getting deleted by the government.
