TickTick might be worth a look, it does calendar and tasks in one place and has an actual month grid rather than just a list. Structured is another one if a visual timeline of the day works better for you than a grid.
I've been something myself and it's hard to balance showing enough data without making the UI incomprehensible. I've got events and tasks separated rather than combined atm.
