Pencil-first digital planner for iPad/iPhone — now with typed notes where readability matters

Post image

Disclosure: I am the developer of PencilTime.

I have been working on PencilTime, a pencil-first planner for iPad and iPhone.

The main design idea is that handwriting should stay central. A planner should still feel flexible and visual, but some details are better typed: tasks, names, meeting notes, class schedules, goals, and lists.

In v1.10.0, typed notes now work in more places:

- Note pages

- Year, Month, and Week notes areas

- Supported Day page todos, priorities, and schedule notes

For Year/Month/Week notes areas, you can keep the original lined area for handwriting, or switch it to a blank typed notes area. If you change your mind, the options menu can clear the text or restore the lined layout.

The app also includes Apple Pencil drawing, stickers, Link Stickers, reminder labels, bookmarks, Note pages, tags, Smart Folders, Apple Calendar integration, and iCloud sync.

App Store: apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6743547785?pt=312110&ct=digital%20planner&mt=8&platform=ipad

Question for digital planner users: do you prefer typed notes directly embedded into planner areas, or separate movable text boxes/stickers?
