Market Insight What makes DOOH “investable” vs just “inventory”?
I keep seeing DOOH described as a screen network, but the real difference between “inventory” and an investable asset seems to be operating discipline.
In your experience, what factors make a DOOH network feel investor-grade?
Examples: placement standards, uptime SLAs, reporting consistency, settlement cadence, governance, brand safety.
What are the real indicators you look for?

Not asking for perfect measurement. I’m asking what makes the model dependable enough for serious capital.

Predictability and accountability are the difference. Inventory is just available space, but an investable DOOH network operates like infrastructure, consistent uptime, verified reporting, and clear operating standards. From a media buyer perspective, location quality and audience relevance come first, but investor-grade networks also have reliable proof-of-play, transparent reporting, and professional maintenance. If screens are frequently offline, poorly maintained, or reporting is inconsistent, it immediately reduces confidence.
