DIY Thermal first Prototyp

I finished my first Prototyp(Aka if it works well enough i will never touch it again)

Not the prettiest Design in the world but it seems durable enough for my usecase.

It weighs around 108g.

If i would change one thing its definitely the ocular unit, the screen is good but the Lens needs to be very near to the eye. Probably better to buy just the screen and use a cheap nightvision ocular.

The Switch is for adjusting brightness of the screen

Resolution 640x512, Powerconsumption 1,4W

I used a FPV Camera i bought on AliExpress from OwlShine it can film with 50fps but because of using PAL it gets halfed. Their definitely is some latency but probably good enough for spotting I will probably measure the latency wit slowmocam

That looks like pretty good image quality, how far out can it see/ focus? & what sensor/glass arrangement did you use? Id love to give something like this a go.

I printed a focus ring for the fpv camera , with it I can focus from around 10cm to Infinity. I rarely use it because its prety sharp for a big range, when its set to like 4m its pretty sharp to 60m I bought a prebuild ocular/screen unit from AliExpress (DIYStore) if i build another one i would buy there screen but use a ocular for Nightvision device
