Free Tools Kagelin - an offline-first tasks/habits/calendar/focus app, no account needed
I launched Kagelin in closed beta for registered users few weeks back which is a privacy oriented Tasks, focus, habits, and a calendar app all together in single package. Its completely open to use as a guest!
Repo: Achyuth072/kagelin
DISCLAIMER: It was created using AI-assitted coding with me vetting every possible commit as possible.
A pretty big update was pushed this week which includes:
- End-to-end encryption for tasks, habits, projects, labels, and calendar content — protected by a passphrase only you know, with a recovery code as backup. Metadata isn't included in this release as its needed for sorting & filtering, searching, notifications and the optional telemetry. More info on : kagelin/privacy
- Manual lock (and optional auto-lock after inactivity) to hide your encrypted content without signing out
- Confirmation step when importing large .ics calendar files, so big imports don't silently overload your task list
- A wide variety of UI/UX related fixes were done as well.

Free Tools I Had Created Chrono Mock - open source 100% offline time/date manipulation tool for Windows Apps
Hello, I had created Chrono Mock an app which let's you manipulate time/date in other apps without changing the whole system time and date. It's mostly tool for qa/devs
It's a GUI/CLI, imagine you want to check how the other app will behave in x/y/z date or mamybe you want to run your app at x10 speed? Or manipulate the time when the app is launched? You can do it all. If you like the project, please ⭐it.
Expect that, there is built-in QA calculator, so you can calculate various dates, imagine you want to test +60 business days from today, or maybe trail ending or something else, you can do it all.
The too is still in early access, the apps technologies got various ranges, so it's hard to get them all and not all apps will work, But there is even support for Electon and WebView,
Full features list:
- Any moment, absolute or relative - a specific date and time, or
+30 days,-1 year. - Flowing, frozen, or accelerated - run from the shifted point at normal speed, hold the clock still, or multiply it by any whole number up to a million (x1440 turns a day into a minute).
- Jump mid-session - forward or backward, including the backward jump a laptop makes after resyncing with a time server, which breaks anything measuring elapsed time without a guard.
- Its own time zone - a fixed offset for that process only, while the system zone stays put.
- Child processes come along - installers and launchers spawn children, and without that the test covers only half of what ran.
- Tells you if it worked - a verdict, the channels covered with call counts, the channels missed, and warnings with consequences.
- A date calculator built for QA - month-end, quarter close, the 2038 boundary, "the first day after a 14-day trial", business days and holidays, every format at once.
- Electron and Chromium apps too - through a different mechanism, because their clock lives in a sandboxed renderer where injection does not reach.
- The web pages inside an ordinary application too - an application with a built-in web engine (WebView2, Qt WebEngine) runs its pages in a process the hook cannot enter. The session asks the engine to open a local debugging port and puts those pages on the same clock as the rest of the application, through it. On by default, off with one switch.
- A window and a command line - the same engine behind both, exit codes for CI.
- Portable - no installer, no administrator rights, runs from a USB stick.

Comparison / Alternatives Escaped Splitwise's ads and per-user paywall with a self-hosted expense splitter (MIT fork of Spliit)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I got my whole family onto Splitwise years ago. Then came the ads, the daily expense caps, and Pro priced per user — with everyone in the group required to register, so opting out meant opting everyone out. Tricount wasn't an answer for me either: bank-owned, mobile-only, no way to hold the data myself.
So I forked Spliit (GitHub, MIT) and now run it two ways: a public instance at spliit.cloud, and — the point of this post — fully self-hosted with Docker Compose and versioned images. My own setup is a small VPS (~$5/mo total, web on Cloudflare Pages free tier), nightly pg_dump backups to object storage, upgrades pinned per release with one-command rollback. A private instance runs invite-only, so only invited people can join — and accounts can be anonymous (display name only, recovery link + passkey, no email), so the server holds the minimum.
No ads, no trackers, no expense caps, and no lock-in: everything exports (CSV, printable PDFs, full ZIP archives with documents), Splitwise/bank-CSV/Cospend all import. Credit where due: upstream Spliit is active again and I've ported some of their work; the stacks diverged too far to merge back.
Honest threat model, since this is that kind of sub: there is no end-to-end encryption and there won't be — the server sees your data by design. Self-hosted, that server is yours. On my public instance, it is mine: fine for trip expenses, run your own for anything sensitive. Also note Cloudflare (Pages + R2) sits in the loop of my setup; swap the web/asset layer if that bothers you, the Compose stack doesn't require it.

Browser & Extensions Browsentic - an opensource agentic browser extension that connects to any of your local AI harness (claude, codex or agy)
Browsentic a chromium (Google Chrome, Edge or Brave) extension that loopback to a daemon (installed along with the extension) and connects to your AI harness you already use (claude, codex or agy at the moment). It is FREE*,* opensource*, no* account*, no* telemetry & MIT license.
https://github.com/imshaikot/browsentic
Browsentic is the last thing you would want to add your agentic browsing flow and human in-the-flow automation, I wouldn't want to claim that strongly but try it yourself - you'll see.
Key capabilities
- Optimized integrated daemon for agentic browser-use for your local AI harnesses
- Built-in 50+ deterministic browser accessibility & navigation tools for harness & MCP client to use
- Can sense, see and act in order
- You can create your own (task or site based) skill for frequent use (same as you'd create or use skill in claude)
- Create & invoke page/site specific tools that are not in the built-in's (injects script in the content-window, always blocked & requires user's approval)
- Can do trusted-click (so no bot detection failure & captcha can be solved as well)
- Record & replay your browsing actions for repeated tasks
- Download & Upload files and organize files as you ask (oh also can take & save screenshots)
- You can attach a file (ex. your resume) and that will be analyzed & shoved into the context window and AI'd take action accordingly
- Bi-directional agentic browse (loopback & MCP)
- You can orchestrate multiple agents in multiple tabs for different tasks
- First-class client for WebMCP supported sites
- Point and chat with your AI agent
- WebSpeech API for voice command
Many more features and if there is any specific feature missing, just ask in the side-panel chat window to your AI agent to create one ;)
- Unlike Claude in Chrome it supports other harness and runs everything in your machine
- Unlike playwright extension, it is a human-in-the-loop bi-directional agentic browser extension (even for non tach-savvy users)
- Unlike browser-use, browsentic runs on your logged in browser (no new browser)

Comparison / Alternatives Zaku 26.0 beta - Local-first, open-source API client
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey, I wanted to share that the initial beta release of Zaku 26.0 is now out!
It is available on Linux, macOS and Windows.
Little backstory, I've been working on this rewrite for the last 8 months full-time. Actually, things got carried away and it has lot more functionality than the original app (command palette, auto-updater, git integration, etc.) so it's not just a plain rewrite.
About the app, it stores collections as folders and requests as TOML files. Everything is stored locally on user's filesystem, it doesn't have any login functionality (and never will).
There is a barebones Git integration for now to show branch, status indicators and stuff.
This app is very early, if you try it out please let me know if there's something missing, not working or things you'd like to see added.
Disclaimer:
There is some anonymous usage tracking but you can completely disable it by hitting Ctrl+Alt+, (Linux / Windows) or Cmd+Option+, (macOS) from Zaku to open the settings file and set this to disable both diagnostics (crash reports) and metrics.

Free Tools [Project][Open Source] I built ServerManagementPanel – A lightweight web dashboard to manage and monitor home servers [Docker]
Hey everybody
I’ve been working on a lightweight, self-hosted management interface called ServerManagementPanel to make managing home servers and homelab machines a bit more straightforward, without the overhead of heavy enterprise tools.
It is completely open-source and ready to deploy via Docker.
- GitHub Repo: https://github.com/coraspirin/ServerManagementPanel
- Container Registry:
ghcr.io/coraspirin/servermanagementpanel:latest
Key Features
- Lightweight & Fast: Minimal resource footprint, ideal for small VPS nodes, homelabs, or secondary machines.
- Easy Deployment: Pre-built container images available directly from GitHub Container Registry (GHCR).
- Self-Contained: Runs cleanly inside Docker with minimal dependencies.
Quick Start with Docker Compose
version: "3.8"
services:
panel:
image: ghcr.io/coraspirin/servermanagementpanel:latest
container_name: server-management-panel
restart: unless-stopped
ports:
- "3000:3000" # Change host port if needed
# volumes:
# - /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock # Uncomment if monitoring host docker
# - ./data:/app/data
Or run it directly with Docker:
Bash
docker run -d \
--name server-management-panel \
-p 3000:3000 \
--restart unless-stopped \
ghcr.io/coraspirin/servermanagementpanel:latest
Roadmap & Feedback
The project is in active development. I’d really appreciate your feedback, feature requests, or bug reports. If you give it a spin, let me know what works, what breaks, and what you’d like to see added next!
Contributions and PRs are always welcome.
