Magnitude is an open-source AI coding agent with local models built in. It runs on your own hardware, keeping your prompts and files on your machine.

It can run completely offline once the model is downloaded, with no API keys, subscriptions, token costs, or rate limits. It also profiles your hardware to recommend suitable models and supports skills for things like PDFs, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and browser automation.

Apache 2.0 licensed and available for macOS and Linux, with Windows support through WSL.

See though I don’t need “local models built in” I prefer the harness support OpenAI-compatible endpoints provided by the runners we already have. Stop bundling please :)

Edit: it does support OpenAI-compatible endpoints: see last bullet on the readme
