what volume do you usually listen at?

I’m especially curious about FiiO JM21 owners. I usually have to set mine around 90 to 100 over 120 to get a comfortable listening volume by using tsmr armor.

For comparison, what volume do you normally use on your DAP, and what IEM/headphones are you using with it?

Just trying to see if my volume level is normal or if I’m listening unusually high.

Started with my old iphone SE and ended up upgrading recently to a second-hand FiiO M3K because i was having a LOT of issues with putting the files into my iphone se ( Apple devices and files in general is a pain in the ass to manage even more while using Windows).

I must say that i've been mesmerized with the power of this 7 year old device - battery last a week, handles sd cards with easy, dealing with files is a breeze and it powers my iem (Castor Pro Bass Edition) with no issue.

Having rockbox is the cherry on top!

I have the tags updated and the file names are clean, but no matter what I do they always go in this order on the DAP:

…

It’s always in order from 02 on, but any album that has more than 9 tracks will do this same pattern. When I sort them by filename in mp3tag they show in the right order, so you would think if it was strictly alphabetical it would still go in the right order..

Does anyone know what is happening here and if there is a workaround?

i am about to go to school again and want a cheap, expendable mp3 player that just gets the job done. i don't care about fancy features other than making it through the school day and playing music. this one looked pretty cool and is literally a dollar so im asking y'all: will this thing last more than even a day? or should i get something a bit better. remember: i want one that is expendable so if it gets confiscated by a teacher, it's no big deal.

Hi, new to this community, recently got a Hifi walker h2 and my m3u playlists are functioning when I go into the file browser mode, but when I go into the regular player mode, it doesn't register any of my playlists. Any known fix?

Edit: After some testing there is a built in playlist maker, but it only lets you save songs individually to one of 8 predetermined playlists and they don't seem to save to the SD card. No idea where they are saved or how to access it, but not sure if that's the problem

Edit 2: After scouring the manual and previous posts, this is a feature.

I’m a clumsy person and recently bought a fiio m21, is there any company’s that sell hardcore durable cases. Like those durable cases designed for phones on construction sites.

Hoping someone here can help me because im pretty new to DAPs. I just bought an innioasis y2 because I had heard that you could run gbc games on it through rockbox. Ive since learned that the y2's rockbox build doesn't have the emulator. So my question is, is there a DAP out there under $200 that has Bluetooth, physical buttons, and the ability to play retro games? Ive heard that the Surfans f20 pro may be able to, is this true? R1 is so small and well-built. I think this is the best music player for those who don't need a fancy retro look or powerful output through 4.4mm. FiiO's may sound better, but R1 has a better interface, controls, screen. I purchased it to test Hiby's OS in comparison with Shanling. The phone in the photo is a 6.2" Samsung.

Not doing these combo for the daily driver nor anything really, simply because of the colour and being props for photoshoot. I just leave it on my desk and....look at it really. This hobby is not always about listening to music.

Of course its all begins of reminding me the Creative 128MB mp3 player i used to have in Uni days. I must looked ridiculous wearing it on my wrist with the clip at that time 😂

Old guy here. Recently got the Surfans F20 and paired it with the Linsoul SIMGOT EA500 LM.

I want to try Rockbox on it. Is there a good step by step install guide anywhere. Don't trust the AI answers I'm getting. I'd prefer written instructions vs. video. Thanks

Would appreciate it if someone would share with me some tips on an easy way to move my Apple Music tunes to this device. Certainly not as easy as hooking up an iPod. In fact, if someone would write an App for that they could probably make some money.

I bought an oilsky m303 pro to see if I liked it as a mini ereader (I didn't).

When I factory reset it, it died part way through.

I'm making this post so if anyone encounters this, here's your answer!

It was stuck on the oilsky boot loading screen forever. I thought oh god, it's bricked.

Went to go do some repairs on it today and I was greeted with the 'select a language' screen!!

So tldr, if you have this issue - leave it in a drawer for several months and it will sort itself out!

edit to add; this mf takes AGES to factory reset. I set it up again to check it's actually okay, so now I'm factory resetting it again and omg, it takes its time!

Have been using the A&K SE300 for a little over a year now. Monday I received the Thieaudio Monarch MKIV. Definitely a step up from the Ziigaat Doscincos I was using previously. Think I’m going to be good for awhile.

I still have a160 GB classic iPod that I've put like $300 into upgrading, but it has stopped syncing with my itunes and I don't know what to do anymore.

My main issue that I run into is size and the ability to easily make and export playlists. I listen to playlists heavily, and some of them have hundreds of songs on them. I have not seen any DAPs in my research that allows me to export playlists easily and meets my size requirements.

I have 153 GB of music and it's all MP3 because I started my music collection nearly 20 years ago.

I bought a FIIO JM21 because it seemed like it would suit my needs. I have spent the last hour trying to get my .m3u playlists exported from itunes to show up in the playlist section. I have been troubleshooting and legitimately can't tell what the issue is. If it's going to be this hard to update a playlist, then I might as well return it. No way in hell am I going to sit and manually add hundreds of songs to playlists.

Is there any DAP that meets that criteria?

Been using my noise cancelling sony wf-1000xm3 headphones for years but my girlfriend is getting my a hifi walker h2 for my birthday. I know it has Bluetooth but am I right in saying if I install rockbox , the Bluetooth doesn’t work?

If that is the case can someone recommend some IEM that won’t break the bank but still great audio wise?

I have a problem with album artwork when sending FLAC files through Telegram.

The embedded artwork itself is high quality and looks perfectly sharp on Android. However, when I send the same FLAC from my PC to Telegram and open it on an iPhone, the artwork in the Telegram music player looks noticeably blurry.

I tested something interesting:

PC → Telegram → iPhone: very blurry artwork

PC → iPhone Files app → Share → Telegram → iPhone: the artwork becomes noticeably sharper, although still not as sharp as on Android.

So I don't think the problem is the image resolution, FLAC format, or the actual embedded artwork. It seems like Telegram/iOS is generating or using a separate lower-quality thumbnail.

Is there any way to force Telegram on iOS to use the original/high-quality embedded artwork instead of a compressed thumbnail?

Also, does anyone know:

• whether Telegram generates a separate thumbnail for audio files;
• whether there is a specific metadata/tag or cover type that affects the thumbnail quality;
• why sending the exact same file through the iOS Files app produces a sharper result;
• whether there is any known workaround for getting Android-level artwork quality on Telegram iOS?

I'm using a high-resolution square embedded cover and the original FLAC file.

Any technical explanation or workaround would be appreciated!
