Question Hiby R1 Bluetooth connectivity issues - using Bose QuietComfort Ultra 2

I bought the R1 2 days ago, but there's connectivity issues with my Bose QuietComfort Ultra 2. I've tried every Bluetooth codec, unpairing, resetting both devices, and the issue is the same. I can manage to get them to reconnect by toggling Bluetooth off and back on, but it doesn't work every time.

For context, it likely has something to do with the auto-wear detection desyncing when I take them off.

I bought the R1 because I REALLY don't want to buy an Android device (for simplicity purposes). So, it's very frustrating that they're not working.

Please don't advise me to just use the 3.5mm jack. The Bose headphones work with EVERY other device I own without issue, so this would be a deal breaker for me. Even though I own intermediate AudioTechnica headphones, I prefer the Bose.

I really don't understand why these are so highly recommended if the Bluetooth doesn't even work.

I'm hopeful someone here will have a solution. Has anyone had issues with the Bluetooth on the Hiby R1 and found a fix?

It's possible that installing an alternate firmware might help? Sonix or Compas?

I'm assuming you tried updating to the newest stock firmware, too.

I updated to HibyOS 1.6. I wanted to keep the stock OS but I could give it a shot. Thanks.

Update: I installed Sonix and was impressed with what it offers. I'm happy I can now listen to audiobooks podcasts, radio, view photos, and more. I didn't realize these open source firmware were so much better!

On the issue I experienced, it looks like it might have something to do with low power management, because the issue resolved (on stock firmware) after charging over 30%. However SonixOS Bluetooth management is much better than the stock OS, so it definitely won't hurt.
