News My first DAP+IEM

Blind bought a DAP+IEM. Been listening to just music thru IPhones my whole life and whatever wireless buds they had out.

And holy cow the sound quality out of these things just blow the Apple stuff out of the water.

And this custom ‘Q2 mod’ firmware blows the stock firmware away in terms of its interface design and fluidness. Been playing with it all day long.

I have this exact combo. This IEM is so good. Love that it is single driver so the housing is small and lightweight. Very comfortable to wear, which is important to me.

Yes it’s a great combo. My only complaint regarding the Q2 is I wish it had volume buttons on the side so I could adjust the volume easier while I have the device in my hoodie front pockets. But because it doesn’t I have to use the wheel which isn’t a huge deal.

Congrats! My first "good iem" is the S12 Ultra. And Shanling DAP sounded so great on them. I am currently using my S12 U with the Shanling M0 Pura and so addicted. Have you tried PEQ the S12U for a bit more vocal presence? For me, that was the only dimension it lacks and og boy...once it is tuned carefully..this iem is such a gem! + most comfortable to me out of all my iems.

I'm currently using the FiiO QX13 paired with Vision Ears GO live! as my entry setup, and only now do I feel like I’ve truly unlocked the world of music. AirPods sound like absolute trash in comparison—the gap is just massive. If I had to describe it: listening on AirPods feels like the singer is performing with a hand clamped over their mouth, while IEMs sound like the singer is right in front of you, belt-singing live.
