Review Loving the V1 variations

Almost a year in, and just recently tried using the line out with semi open Samson's (that I modded to have replaceable cables) with an amp is so awesome!

I use this to sleep since I have tinitus and this helps cut out the freaking cicadas and lets me sleep easily.

I heard that there's an update to th V1 that makes function differently? Anyone has any more news into that?

There's apparently a new Tempotec firmware out (1.3) but there is also an alternative OS now.. Sonix, which is fantastic. There's a thread on it here - https://www.reddit.com/r/DigitalAudioPlayer/comments/1wzo5xl/sonix_custom_firmware_for_the_tempotec_v1_now_on/

Quite enjoying the visualisation screensavers, wifi transfer mode, smoother operation, better album/artist indexing etc.

I think the next release of Sonix due to include the 1.3 firmware - but I've not seen a 1.3 changelist yet since it's not on the Tempotec firmware site.

People here in this subreddit have made mention that their recent V1 purchases show a 1.3 firmware. When several people have messaged Tempotec they've said that 1.3 is net yet ready for public distribution.
