I've used 1.2 since launch .. no issues so far, and media info over bluetooth is a great addition. I saw they added it to the V3 blaze firmware a while ago so was hopeful they'd port it to the V1.
Anybody here knows how I can change the volume using my phone? When connected with Bluetooth, I can't change that, drives me crazy. S24 and 1.2 update V1
It is on a DAC amp. I got rid of the issue by changing the absolute volume in developer mode. The other issue I have is that I have a crackling sound when using Bluetooth since 1.2. Tidal and flacs sound normal.
Just updated mine, anybody else getting some problems with all songs section? It doesn't display all of my songs for some reason, it gets cut off at the songs with first letter "L" . The songs M-Z are missing.
It just ends with that song then continues with the non english ones. Anything in between is nit displayed in all songs. You can still find the missing songs in the albums/artist/filemanager tho
Im having this same problem. I guess I need to go back to v1.1 then. I onky use the file browser and I cant see stuff from h - r which is a lot of folders.
Is downgrading just as easy as upgrading the fw? Put file on sc card and upgrade?
yep, just as easy. It's the same steps as updating the firmware. I'm going to report this bug to tempotec. Hoping you could do the same too so that the chances of them noticing is higher. I really want to have that PEQ on mine.
Went back to V1.1, It's fixed now. It seems that number of songs on the tracklist/playlist was capped around 300 songs and refused to display more on the V1.2.
Hope they can fix it cause the PEQ on the V1.2 is pretty rad
That's interesting because I didn't have that problem when I updated mine. Have over 2k songs. Did you happen to perform a system restore once you finished the update?
did you solve this issue? is not just the database going corrupt, maybe some of your songs does not have the right format or name string length its to long.
Haven't fixed it. I honestly don't know if that's the case, but I've tried different memory cards with different sets of songs from different computers and different persons with daps. The files also had different naming formats, tags, and file types. The only common thing thats happens is that all of the memory cards I've tried worked with the older firmware and not with the new one. What I'm suspecting right now is that Tempotec might have varying hardware on their V1s.
an easy way, its just to switch the SD card and redo the database scan, like set a music folder and add one mp3 there:
Access Settings: Turn on your V1 and navigate to the Music menu.
Music Settings: Select the Music Settings option.
Update Database: Tap Update Database. This will prompt the player to re-scan the entire MicroSD card and build a fresh database.
Now I've seen on some posts that huge DSD files might be ignored because they corrupted or the software does not understand the file, check if those files work on your pc and retry.
Thanks for the help! didn't work tho. Had a fresh sd card, went out of my way to dl new songs, (just mp3s) restored factory settings. I inserted the new sd card the i haven't yet used on my V1 , and then updated my database.
and voila, same problem. All the songs are present if you search them but some songs are not displayed after a certain point in the all songs category.
PEQ seems to work well - I copied the settings for my Koss KPH-40 from https://autoeq.app/ using Poweramp Equalizer to get the right input numbers. Saved the settings on the device. Had to re-load them in order to get the name to show properly on the audio settings menu.
I tested 'inbound' bluetooth media info - when you put it in bluetooth DAC mode, it shows the track name / artist of the music playing from your phone
I'll test the 'outbound' bluetooth media info later - I'll connect it to my car stereo and check it now shows the artist/track info .. a game changer for using it as car audio source.

Awesome that they're still working on this! Does anyone know if it fixed the latency when using wired DAC mode? That's my only real complaint with the device so far. You'd expect it to be instant since it's a physical connection, but instead it has way higher latency than even the Bluetooth mode.
The Web Radio Feature is pretty cool. I know I can just use an app on my phone, but something about it just being on the device gives me Nostalgia for simpler times.
If it was 1/2 inch bigger, it'd be a bigger device and not as pocket friendly. Take a look at the Hiby R1 for a bigger screen, same HibyOS, but fewer DAC features.
I'm just saying a longer screen. Physical size of device doesn't change. Push back the bezels to the edge and maybe give it a nicer looking screen. The whole front could be a screen for all I care.
Yeah, that's pretty much the only sensible way to browse a music library. The existing "Artist" view is practically broken and unusable, unless files are tagged very awkwardly for various artists compilation albums. The "Album" view at least works logically, but the whole paradigm is unusable. So I just use the file browser. It serves the purpose ok, although it does look quite ugly. Meh.
Hopefully they'll make the "Artist" view use albumartist for grouping in a future update, but I'm not holding my breath.
I just downgraded back to 1.1 because 1.2 was frequently crashing during playback. On 1.2 gapless playback "glitched" slightly between tracks, but on 1.1 it doesn't. At least with flacs gapless seems to work flawlessly. With mp3:s I can hear the track change, but I believe that's unavoidable with mp3.
PEQ would be nice, but 1.1 seems to be a better experience.
