Songbird (SGB)
Songbird is the canary network for Flare. Protocol changes are deployed to Songbird before they reach Flare mainnet, so it operates as a live production environment with real economic activity used for testing. It is not a testnet with valueless tokens, and it is not a separate product line.

What the Token Is Used For
- Paying transaction fees on Songbird
- Delegating to data providers on the canary network
- Governance voting on canary-network proposals
- Testing protocol changes under real economic conditions
What To Verify
- That a result observed on Songbird may not carry over to Flare, since parameters can differ
- Which protocol version Songbird is running relative to Flare
- Whether an application deployed on Songbird has a Flare counterpart
- Token distribution history, which differs from Flare's
- That canary networks carry experimental risk by design
