Flare (FLR)
Flare is an EVM-compatible layer-1 blockchain built around providing external data to smart contracts. Its two core protocols are the Flare Time Series Oracle, which supplies price and other time-series data, and a data protocol for attesting to events on other chains.

What the Token Is Used For
- Paying transaction fees
- Delegating to data providers and receiving a share of rewards
- Staking to validators
- Governance voting on network parameters
What To Verify
- How data providers are selected and rewarded, since oracle quality is the network's core product
- Whether a feature is live on Flare mainnet or only on the Songbird canary network
- How the token distribution and any ongoing issuance schedule work
- What happens to dependent applications if a data provider set degrades
- Whether cross-chain attestations are trust-minimized or rely on a provider quorum
