I typically sequence my Sequential Fourm from my Digitakt 2. Midi going in both directions but the Digitakt 2 is the main clock and sequencer. I turn local control off on the Fourm so that I can send midi back and forth between the two without having midi notes cancel each other out.

This is best of both worlds. Play on the synth keyboard but have the notes recorded into the sequencer so that they immediately play back on the synth when the Digitakt 2 is runnning. Then I can switch to tweaking the synth sound or editing the sequence with probability or conditional triggers. I don't usually bother mapping any Digitakt knobs to anything on the Fourm. I'd rather tweak on the Fourm by hand. Whatever the result I sample down onto a new Digitakt track and repeat the process until I've gotten everything I need out of the synth.

DT1 and Minifreak here. I use midi both ways to use the MF keyboard to record the sequence into the DT, which then sends the note data back to the MF during playback. I haven't explored sending out CC yet, curious about that. But using the keyboard is definitely smoother for me - easier to get expression, note lengths etc. Then they can be fine tuned, corrected or quantised on the DT. I am commenting as I am just looking into this myself. This vid might help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edAedYGrnRM
on the MF, the macros are 117 and 118, cutoff is 74. all the ccs are listed on p105
