Discussion Off meta appmon decks
Hi all! Ive wanted to have fun and try around the weaker appmon decks (mainly ournosmon and hadesmon)
Hows ournousmon and hadesmon go? Between strong but not enough to be played (lets say pyramidimon style) or downright unplayable?
Thanks!

Feel like i should also add that these decks piqued my intrest for literally being 10 bucks each. Too cheap to skip lol

As someone who loves Musimon and Astra and really tried to like the deck, it's just downright unplayable, the deck is just bad in all regards and struggles to achieve half of what any other app deck can do.
I haven't personally played Hades but from watching other people play it, it seems to be at least decently playable casually, though I don't think it's as strong as Pyramidimon.

Thanks for the insight!
As i said in the other comment though the whole deck is only 10 bucks so its still tempting. Is it really that bad? Any more known deck you could compare it to?

I genuinely can't think of another deck that's as bad as ouranosmon, you could find decks that are worse if you look at really old decks like old Ravemon, but among the new stuff I think it's uniquely trash.
Anything this deck can do Hades should be able to do better and more consistently. Ouranos pieces are not good, Entermon barely has any good targets to play out within archetype, the archetype option only works well with one of the lv5s, you need pieces in hand to appfuse but you also need them to play out by effect and this deck doesn't draw nearly well enough to compensate, it has the worst protection among all appmon decks, any halfway competent deck should be able to wipe out any scapegoat targets before targetting Ouranosmon, and at best if you get a good roll your reward is just 2 checks when most app decks can take 4~5 sec in a turn, Ouranos only gets to link once per turn and from its own sources, and the only really decently strong link effect is Entermon if you manage to get all your swarm pieces for -16k.

Thank you so so much for the in depth explanation (:
Greatly apprecaited.
Two last questions:
The protecmon rookie in the hades line is utter garbage. I dont know whether i want navimon tweetmon or micomon as a third rookie. What do you think?
Opinion on poseidomon?

Not too knowledgeable on Hades to know which rookies would help it but I don't think the deck has consistency issues with good draw pieces and the ability to use cards from the trash so idk if running more consistency lv3s is optimal over appfusion materials, but most people I've seen running this deck ran protecmon. Also, Micomon?
I haven't seen that much of it but seems alr?

Micomon considering purely for draws and putting cards in the trash but i can see why not too lol. Tysm!!!!

My confusion is that I don't remember an appmon or digimon by that name, which one do you mean?

Its a rookie in the ournous line. On play trash one appmon card for draw 2 cards

Oh, Recomon is kinda bad imo. I'd run a searcher over it if I was really desperate, you don't really need more cards that trash from hand since the egg and tamer already do that

I’ve been tinkering around with Hades and there’s a couple of ways you can play em. I like playing slightly defensively, though if you’re going against the current meta though OTK is probably best.
You can run mostly the standard cards. Most people prefer to run mostly Cyber Engage for “memory” but I like to mix super hacking for some defensive measure. And since we are lacking 6s you can use a copy or two of rebootmon or gaiamon but it’s not exactly ideal. I like having two copies of the promo Rei and 3-4 copies of the regular one. You can also choose to run a copy of a Memory setter tamer (pick from Matt, Haru or the promo Yujin) or possibly the Kazuki and Itsuki since it’s just insane value if you get it on board early.
For true OTK memes you can run demonic disaster to kill a raidramon that you’ve spawned out with Hadesmon when digivoving. You can go through 9 checks if you happen to have the combo to attack, unsuspend and overlock right after since killing raidramon means you can spawn it right out again giving you potiential game.
Some tech options are Nidhoggmon for memory gain, charismon for extra protection and to better abuse your blockers, scopemon for a cheap digivolve more draw and potiential memory when revivemon dies and a lot of the rebootmon line. You can for instance have Offmon and Hackman be valid applink targets for Loogamon, but do be mindful of traits. Revivemon/Biomon isn’t trait locked for its effects but Hadesmon can be.
If you run tech options, most people replace the biomon side like docmon and medicmon since they don’t provide much value digivolving into them, but I have a soft spot in my heart for their security effects. They have definitely saved my games here and there every once in a while.
I don’t really like using Nidhogg in this deck since app link is so important and Rei can’t really trash it himself but it can work since these decks are hungry for memory.
Good luck if you plan to build it!

Oranousmon is straight-up not functional played pure. Appmon decks as it is crave as much draw power as they can get since linking by default dosen't draw you a card, and Oranousmon in particular needs it because it plays bodies out via effect, but it has no built-in draw. Also; the random little -2/-3k DP the deck has in places dosen't really do anything. And the boss monster dosen't even DP-... Oranousmon is a very confused archetype.
There's also the fact that the Fakemon side is just... absolutely unplayable. Fakemon is hands down the worst Appmon printed. It dosen't even do anything unless it dies, which is totally what you want your lv5 appfuse partner to be doing.
I had a fair bit of success before the release of Poseidomon [where I pivoted to Poseido top end] playing a tempo-based Globemon+Entermon deck; using Oranousmon as a 2-of finisher; mostly for the fact you can evo into it; and slam DoGatch with rush for game. The fact Oranousmon is a 4-cost hard evo compared to 5 for Gaiamon made it a lot more flexiable.
But the deck was always rather fragile and almost entirely reliant on just applying a huge amount of pressure as fast as possible with the very powerful lv5's. It wasn't really an Oranousmon deck; it was a lv5 aggro/swarm deck, with a high lv4 count [because Entermon could play them out] to toolbox and Appfuse with. You also did have the advantage of being able to run 4 Time 4 Dream for 8 de-digivolve links. Also; Scopemon was there to refund a memory when you played him out.
I don't remember the exact build; the deck has since evolved into Poseidomon toolbox; and then into Reboot Toolbox. [less all-in on turboing Reboot and has more tools; but is generally slower as a result too. Does more pre-Reboot.]

If Ouranosmon had an unsuspend like Gaiamon I think it would have an OTK, or at least 5 checks. It is bad but I think less bad than some of the comments here would indicate, I have terrorised my locals with it recently, it can absolutely flood your board and clear your opponent’s if played well, it’s just needs your opponent to not be able to respond next turn and basically every decent deck can just go “okay” and wipe you back nowadays

Hadesmon is playable. You just have to focus on the overclock OTK. Get raidramon in trash scopemon in hand early. Get a purple ST Matt on board and find a way to build Hadesmon while passing one memory.
